I love this venue and it's always brilliant seeing the Manics in Wales. Can't wait. xxx

i've been waiting for this thread to ask a question, any advice would be appreciated.
a few weeks ago i met jdb and he offered to put me & my wife on the guestlist for this gig. however, im now a bit worried as to wether he actually did or not. he took my name etc but have no confirmation other than him walking away pressing buttons on his old brick of a phone. is there any way of checking via management/venue etc? i've only got to travel ten mins on the train from cardiff but it'll be a crushing disappointment to get to the door to find out he forgot/got mixed up etc. i'd rather know before hand so i can look forward to it free of worry/make other arrangements for tickets

From experience the venue often have little idea about whose on the guestlist as it's not really their call. They'll get a list of names on the night from the tour manager.
And bearing in mind that the Newport Centre is primarily a leisure centre, it will probably be even more difficult to get any sort of answer. |

I don't think there's a lot you can do short of going on the day. You could try and contact hall or nothing, but I don't know you'd have much luck.

Yaaargh I'm absurdly excited.
Also, planning on using Meze Lounge as the venue for an unofficial aftershow party. By unofficial aftershow party I of course mean: racing in there straight after the gig and bellowing MANIIIICS at the DJ until 5am. Glory. |

I'm going. Last time I got to see the Manics was the Carling warm-up in 2008 at the same venue.
I've never been to a crap gig at Newport Centre, or a crap Manics gig, so this cannot miss.

I've managed to never see the Manics in Wales yet, so this will be my first Welsh gig

Me neither! Something tells me that something very special will happen in this gig, not as good as Ian Mcculloch and Killing Moon but fuck it, something special!
