I just can't believe how bad their live recordings are these days, it just goes to show how bad the live sound is. Take a listen to a gig from 97-99 and check the difference, there's no comparison. The live sound is so tinny, flat, muddy and one-dimensional these days, I could probably do a better job than that dozy looking bloke on the desk.

But do we know if the officially released mixes are always as they were on the night? I've heard live albums (Morrissey, Squeeze) mixed by Bob Clearmountain and they sound phenomenal.
