I like the video. At first I was like "Oh not a compilation of clips" but once I'd sat through it the first time it made me realise how great a career they've had and how long they've been around and it's a nice video, I like it a lot, it has an emotional side to it.

It's very well assembled. The photos of Richey over the "left alone with your memories" segment is so moving.

I love it ; I like the song but I do love the clip. And yes, quite a few tears the 2 first times I saw it...

Add me to the list of saps who (almost) started crying after seeing it. I wasn't that big a fan of their version of the song when I first heard it, but hearing it paired with the images of the band, it really worked. And I love that they included a clip from that early show of theirs, James showing off his "I am Sex" chest

The problem is they cannot go on making "cut and paste" of previous footage and appear always original.
As I wrote elsewere, it would be a much fair idea to make an "early days" DVD compilation (say two DVDs?) with complete separate "footages". It would (have been) a great idea a DVD with a promo video (or clip) for each song of JFPL. By the way, I might be junior in posting, but it is seventeen years I am following the band and I have therefore a decent idea of people whose life has been shaped by the band. I did NOT mean to be offensive to anyone, but all in all the result appears to me lacking cohesion between "sound and vision" even if I like the song (which remains a cover). Bye Stefano |

If it marked the end of their career it would've been sweet and gorgeous, since it doesn't I feel that it's exploiting Richey a bit.
To be fair I think the band weren't quite sure about the state of their contract with Sony since they didn't deliver any hits with their last album, so maybe it's a just-in-case? Anyway Nicky seems to be in a good mood lately so it looks like they're still secure. |

I think it's fair enough to do a clips-based video for a single from a greatest hits collection, but maybe they have been 'taking stock' a bit too much recently. Hopefully by the time they come back the stock will have been taken.

I liked it for the fact that there are only two clips in it that I hadn't seen before which makes me a mega Manics fan and means I win the internet!

It's the fact that they've included bits from previous promos that's a bit of a let down. The home videos and outtakes / colour versions of the LBAL vid are good though.
Not a fan of the song generally though, well not the Manics cover anyway. |
