Press Association just tweeted: "#Breaking Network Rail and the RMT union agree to meet at Acas in an attempt to avert strikes over pay"

Hoping it goes well, I've got to travel up from Devon. Nightmare otherwise!

Hope we know soon! I'm thinking of booking bus in case. :/

edit ; decided to book the coach. it's only an hour and a fiver. If anyone is thinking this I recommend not leaving it too long as the seats seem to be booking up fairly quickly from when I checked this morning. :/

Since they're going to be live-streaming the show - any chance of someone capturing it so we can all watch it whenever?

One Direction are playing the Stadium a few hundred yards away. The centre of town is going to be mental.

Oh and whoever mentioned driving down Quen Street, I'm afraid the map doesn't show that it's completely pedestrianised.

So glad I ended up booking flights instead, though that was mainly because the train was so expensive!

Does anyone local know how much a taxi back to Newport is likely to be.

(Anyone up for sharing one if they need to go back that way too?)

Will they cancel the strike so they don't get bad publicity for disappointing all the kiddy one direction fans?

Unhappy

This is turning into a bloody fiasco. I've no idea if I'm going to be able to get back to my hotel now. And I thought I was being so clever booking a hotel in Bristol to avoid the chaos

One Direction might end up being our unlikely saviours in that case

Just read about it being shown live on BBC, that's amazing!!! Hopefully it'll get a DVD / Blu Ray release with extras, interviews, etc. A new Manics release is needed. Hope they put on the best show ever. Wish I'd splashed the cash and decided to go along now.
