Got the CDs on now, and Goddamn it I'll say it again like I did 20 years ago: In To Repel Ghosts James 100% sings "so when the ghosts fuck you", it's not "find" at all haha.

Just blasting the vinyl, and can confirm that 100% sounds better on double vinyl playing at a faster speed than the original vinyl does. Im hearing things i never noticed!

On CD the opening bleepy sweeps are really prominent behind the piano chords in Empty Souls! James actually sounds a lot clearer. Which considering the crystal of the original.
Needs to be blasted out!

The shiny pictures in the booklet have reminded me of how stupid I felt when I finally realised what the cover actually is.

I've never saw the leg picture next to lyrics for Glasnost before. Lifeblood sounds amazing. Things aren't fading up in To Repel Ghosts. They are bouncing up charged in the fade up.
Fuck you confirmed!

EDIT: And on the left leg... I can see two smiling faces!

In the same way they'll never sell any ice creams going at that speed, they were right to not use Tony Visconti.
Cardiff Afterlife cassette is such a joy and I've always wanted them to go full Robert Wyatt.
So far Maida Vale tracks ok.

Does anyone else who has received theirs have a couple of digital skips on I Live To Fall Asleep from the Maida Vale Session, around about 11 and 15 seconds in?

MUCH prefer Visconti's SSI.

Some of the early demos or alternate versions are awful. To me it makes me think that this is why the band didn't like the album - the songs themselves sound pretty weak from their inception.

On the other hand I much prefer less produced demos - Emily for example.

Still thin kthe most guitar based Visconti versions are the best. But I guess they didn't hit the aesthetic.

1st listen to the vinyl, wow it absolutely blasts out. Only on side A too.

I just love this album. The artwork, the music, the style at the time. I only saw them in Brighton as we were going to live abroad soon after, and then missed the PPF tour sadly.

Back to Lifeblood. Imagine if this huge version of Empty Souls had come out after TIMTTMY, and the album itself for that matter.
