Yep.

And with the release here now I’m even more annoyed with To Repel Ghosts omission from the Maida Vale set. One of the best songs on the album and a real live rarity cut from a 3 CD box set.

I'm going to need them as a transcript. I think the opening of the second verse. I looked at lyric book (paper smells nice! My sense of smell twenty years ago would have loved it more) and it's that part I'll focus on as I couldn't make it out. That part sounds like different original lyrics.

Amazing. Odd they didn't promote it as such (unless I missed that).

So nice, so clear and fresh. Makes the original album sound like cassette demos and I loved the original.

That Nixon Demo and Live version are miles ahead of the song on the album!

I've had the briefest of skips through it. But I'm already in love with the demo of Fragments. That guitar at the start sounds lovely. I'd happily have an entire Manics album with that level of production, a bit less sheen.

The Tony Visconti version of Solitude Sometimes Is and Emily appear to be the same versions I've had for years that are labelled as 'early'. Not sure I ever realised.

What's going on with the Singing Cat on the cassette tracks....?

Even listening on pretty basic speakers first time round, the album does just sparkle that bit more with the remaster, sounds lovely. Will be sticking some headphones on later.

A bit of a mixed bag on CD3 but the Visconti version of SSI is a standout, a taste of a less polished album.

Were those from the Patrick Jones videos ? (shame those haven't been reissued actually). Am I right in thinking that the 1985 'rehearsal space' version from those isn't on this reissue ?

It blows "Brian Warner has a tasty little ass" out of the water. Also, it just blows.

Also JDB doing his "little girl" vocals on the 1985 demo (and some other demos as well) vs. his low-pitched delivery on the album version =

I'm not certain where they came from, but that does ring a bell. The quality isn't the best really. Sadly I don't have that version of 1985. Saving that for the 30th I guess

Just as I expected, I like the less polished and less clinical Tony Visconti-produced tracks more than their album counterparts. Wish there was an entire album of Visconti versions

EDIT: OMFG, the Maida Vale version of "Empty Souls" is actually SLOWER than the album version :|

It's not, no. Shame really but then there are 5 different versions of the track in all on there.

Pretty sure they were from the Patrick Jones videos which have been copyright struck on youtube, quelle surprise...
