... so what is the next announcement?
New album? KYE (or even GATS) reissue tour? Summer festival announcements? Another reissue of something? |

Sadly I think the moment has passed for the GATS and KYE tours. Gutted about that. Also the Peterborough gig was never rearranged was it?! Wouldn’t be surprised if they released a new album later this year. James said recently that they have 5 or 6 songs ready which basically means in Manics speak the album could be released next week. |

I did joke at the time that the performances of Hit Last Painting and Year of Purification at Clwb Ifor Bach would consitute the entire KYE anniversary, which is sadly looking more and more likely with each day that passes. |

Yes! I remember them posting up a rehearsal set list with some rarities and quite a few covers. Am I right in saying they were lined up for Glasto before Covid struck?!
Sincerely hope GATS is acknowledged being 30 years (bloody hell) but I suspect you’re correct. |

Did the Manics crib INXS?

At the very minimum, this has to happen unless they're rehearsing for one standalone gig at Isle of Wight. Keep an eye on the summer...

Manic Street Preachers, not that other band who actually called themselves "Manics" when any record company employee with a brain cell would have gone "Yeah... That's been taken". I will next post in the top forum of this place when I have news or react to news. I'm just as sick of scaring off the guests and spiderbots as you are. |

Just had a quick listen - reckon they've both got HIT written all over them.

Some poor bugger's been tasked with managing their social media with zero news to speak of. Today they're recommending you listen to Motorcycle Emptiness (a fantastic idea, but it's not exactly going to reach out to new custom). Talk about making gold out of straw.
They should have someone making Reels and TikToks for them.

I like to think the sudden Spotify pushing is because another playlist is imminent.
That, or they've turned on the radio recently and discovered that most music now is just lazily recycling better music from 20+ years ago and they want to inspire David Guetta's next hit single... |

So we've had plugs for what must be considered their three most popular and well known songs, how deep into the back catalogue is new social media person going to go? Can't wait to see them plugging the Love of Richard Nixon in a month or so's time!

Couple of years late. But I've got a pitch for the video for Orwellian. The band don't appear in it. Well you can cut to them playing on a stage or something. But it's filmed in black and white. A terrified man runs through an industrial estate. Checking every door and shutter. Locked. All of them. He is cornered against a wall and overacts wide eyed in terror.
We see what he's running from. A group of children with blonde wigs and glittery costumes come dancing up to him during the chorus. That's it. Probably do the same with a woman in the next verse. Same hunted expression. Same trapped. Same dancing children in the chorus. During the solo they are both at a Police desk explaining something to the officer. Who then nods, opens a door which lets the dancing children in. I can see it in my head. At least I didn't make a thread of this. |
