... well Sean has always been into his tech hasn't he? Feels a bit weird the Manics doing corporate type gigs, can only guess that the organiser is a big Manics fan (or friend) and he threw enough money at the band to make it worthwhile.

It'll probably be a Greatest Hits set. I can't see really obscure stuff being wheeled out for a corporate gig. But then I've never been to a corporate gig. If it means their next album gets more backing and even more promotion in return for doing this. Well that'll pay off for us in the long run.
Besides there's already a tour next summer. If this was the only gig planned then yeah. That would be a pisser. See look at that. "A pisser". 2023 and I'm still using 70's slang.

Would not surprise me if any potential profit went to charity.

Blarst from the past but was anyone there when Eagulls were the support act. I remember reading (on here!) there was zero response from the crowd. No heckling. No throwing stuff. Just awkward silence. Members of the band in tears at the end of their set.
Of course if I was in that band I'd be going to town in pissing off the audience.
But what was it like?

I didn't see them and being honest the name didn't ring any bells, but a quick google indicates they only supported them once back on the 2014 RTF/Futurology preview tour. Here's the old gig thread of it... the comments on them (about page twenty) are rather damning.

https://www.foreverdelayed.org.uk/fo...ighlight=Leeds

The good old days of twenty five pages on a single gig, live tweeting of the setlist as it happened and people logging in to moan about the songs being played at a show they weren't at!

I asked my sister to get me Geddy Lee's autobiography for Christmas. And in a turn of fate, NICKY WIRE interviewed Geddy as part of his book tour. Not sure if he's doing all dates.
But who had that on their Manics Bingo card?!

No official releases and a grand total of eight live shows... has this been the quietest ever year by the Manics since they became a band?

Any reason we've got nearly 1,500-1,800 people viewing the forum the last few days? Do people want to re-live the Underdog edit or photoshop James and his love of Blackstar amps into various compromising positions? (Or is it more likely we're being DDos attacked)

Seems to have been happening for the last few months which has made opening the forum bit of trial and error lately. Guess ol'vbulletin's legacy spam filter can only do so much...

Pretty sure it's bots rather than real people. None of the guests ever register or actually post to say hello, although what the bots have learnt from scouring the site is quite unclear!

To paraphrase Star Wars A New Hope "The bots! They've stopped!".

Happy Christmas Manics people! Good shows were played and we finally got Nicky's album released.
Next year it's all on the Lifeblood reissue and hopefully a new album. And more shows.

Managed to get Everything Must Go. The 2016 edition with the live second disc.
I promise not to live in the second disc. I seriously promise not to live in the second disc.
At least not today as there's stuff to do. Merry Christmas!
