I didn't see the withdrawn Canadian THB in there; I snagged one that was offered by an employee of a record company in Canada who was on the old email list.
In 1998 I got a tax rebate and used those funds to get a Press Cuttings 7" of Suicide Alley from https://eil.com/ and I'm always annoyed there is never a price! The interview with fan questions is brilliant btw! Good work Jamie! This really is an amazing publication! Astounding work! (I have read 5%!) Last edited by taxexile; 07-10-2021 at 17:45. |

I thought £25 was high for the minidiscs, but a look on ebay proved me wrong. Though guess it's one thing to try to sell at those prices, quite another to get them sold.

Big hugs to Sean! Sounds like James has been poorly too and of course poor Nicky losing his parents. Not been an easy few years for them all by the sounds of it. So happy that the new album has done so well and has hopefully given them all a much needed lift!

Still making my way through the fans q&a in the record collector magazine (it's huge!). Key bits so far :
Nicky confusing Mr Carbohydrate with Prologue to History They don't dislike Lifeblood but regret the way they approached it Sean thought Tennesse (I get low) should have been a single JDB regrets re-recording Tennessee and SoS for Generation Terrorists Nicky says Yourself shouldn't have been recorded JDB refused to write music to Nicky's lyrics for Anniversary For No One and War Forever |

I for one am glad they recorded Yourself! One of the many great songs on GATS!

Still reading through the new record collector Manics mag, and there's so many typos in it, especially in the lengthy interview. I know nothing is perfect, there's errors and typos in everything no matter how many times they are proof read, but there are sadly so many in this magazine Still, it's great they got a special magazine

Really enjoyed the Q&A in the Record Collector mag, there's 10 in there I was keen to ask the band at the Q&A next week. Saved me a two hour commute to London
James is really sick of being asked about Lifeblood! I also love the idea of KYE's loose sound is a result of drunken Nicky coming into the booth to tell James and Dave to fuck it up. We also got a justification for why NLY being dropped from the TIMT anniversary release. Apparently it sounds too compressed for James's liking and they've fallen out with the lyrics. Really good piece of memorabilia.

I'm curious about the rare singles section in the record collector special, specifically i have a copy of that 2002 motorcycle emptiness single and briefly thinking i had the more collectible version with forever delayed as a track. The cat number though is for the less collectible version but there's no faster acoustic on this, just little baby nothing acoustic. Weird.
https://www.discogs.com/release/1892...ycle-Emptiness Also wondering about the generation terrorists 20th boxset and if it's still quite highly valued because it's difficult to find a mint version where one or more of the disks aren't cracked because of the bloody awful packaging. I'm not that far in but typos aplenty, makes you wonder if print media is struggling so much these days that they just sacked all the copy editors to save some money.

The Quantick (?) review had two song title mistakes alone. Shoddy

Like all remaining print mags, Record Collector is struggling to survive - hence the presumably minimal editorial staff on this and the fact that they've created the rare discs sections by photographing highlights from someone's collection. It's not perfect but we're glad to have it, right, and they'll get a good buy-rate from Manics fans so it's a win win.
