Making a thread compiling as many YouTube videos of this year's shows? Yay or nay?
Obviously it's not the same. Sound quality dubious. But as a one stop shop?

Edit: no. The sound keeps cutting out on the majority of the videos when they play!

Because AC/DC in London for a short residency. A pop up dive bar with antiques from the band etc. And physical versions of original first two Australian version of Bon's AC/DC.
It would be useless on me. Leaving that aside, imagine a pop dive bar of the Manics following them playing a residency?
Well I didn't know next year 40th anniversary. Or forgot.
Would you drink in a pop up dive bar set up by the Manics and their record label?
It won't happen because you'd get cups of piss thrown around the venue. And Nicky will be "You can't put that on display, they'd fucking try to nick it!" to any memorabilia.
"Only Assholes Lean On This Counter" loses another gap in the retail market of being signed.

No idea where to post this as could not find a Public Sector Broadcasting thread.

Anyways, whilst the Manics were getting rained on in Cardiff last night, I was at Durham Cathedral watching PSB play Every Valley accompanied by the NASWUT Brass Band and Felling Male Voice Choir. Paul Smith replaced JDB on Turn No More. The lighting in the cathedral was stunning. A really special night.

Am very jealous of you although that is based mainly on the fact you were as dry as a bone and I was stood, soaking wet in Cardiff.

Love PSB, first discovered them supporting Manics at Wembley Arena in 2021 and have seen them three more times since with four gigs booked on their October/November tour. Great band.

PSB were played by the DJ before Suede came out on the 5th July gig - I think the song was Go!

Not an album anniversary that I suspect will get much attention like some of their others did but certainly one of the recent albums I've enjoyed the most.

I've had changes of heart about some albums over time but my view of this one is the same as when it came out: good creative songs, an inspired direction, weakened by a jumbled tracklist. I still love the middle section of the album, pity Black Square, Misguided Missile and The Next Jet to Leave Moscow never got live airings.

Haps Baps Raps Futurology!
On my cheap player I can no longer hear the electric yelping puppies in the chorus to Divine Youth.
The really horrible thing about that is if I was listening to YouTube. I'd be able to make them out better. So that was worth buying stuff then.
Currently at Between The Clock And The Bed listening from the start since reading post and forgetting.
I remember playing it louder on my old louder system and my neighbours laughing and playing Simple Minds albums after I'd finished.

The outings of Elvis Impersonator on this tour have been the most I've enjoyed that song for years. Took me until 2013 to hear it live to begin with and before that it was never one of my favourites. Really liked it this time around. Talk about a slow burner.

I don't know if anyone else experiences this with artists they love (Manics or otherwise) but sometimes a song can hit the right spot even decades after first hearing it.

Happy 18th birthday The Great Western!
Wow. Remember the days when new Manics, even if it was solo Manics, stuff was welcomed by their fanbase?

That for me was the peak of the Manics forum fandom days... those were some wild yet entertaining days. The official forum in particular - has there ever been an official comment about why it was there one day and deleted the next?

Elvis Impersonator definitely sounded impressive on this tour - I've been fortunate to hear it several times over the years but it sounded the best I can remember on this tour.

I definitely find that hearing a song live sometimes makes me appreciate the recorded version much more. Be Natural was always a song I didn't particularly care for until hearing it on the TIMTTMY anniversary tour.

I completely understand that. I didn't necessarily have it with Be Natural but I have done with other Manics songs, or lesser obvious/deep cuts by other bands who have a lot of material (The Cure, The Smashing Pumpkins etc).

I had it with a few of James' solo songs actually.
