I'm quietly pleased that the fifteenth Manics studio album will be concurrent with the fifteenth Doctor Who. Tennant coming back really messed up the 14th Doctor / TUVL timing, but until then we had a series of three Manics albums being concurrent with Doctor Who.
RIF - 13th album concurrent with JW 13th Doctor Futurology - 12th album concurrent with PC 12th Doctor RTF - 11th album just about concurrent with MS 11th Doctor

That's good to know. I also like the character of 15th Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa, he also played Mercutio in a stage version of Romeo & juliet which kind of based on the Baz Luhrmann production which is superb.
I'm looking forward to the shiny light or dark of the new album.

I don't often have Manics dreams, but it seems when I'm ill, I do.
In amongst dreams of Identity theft by teens who ran up huge credit card bills, I dreamed I was watching a film that ended with a version of Door to the River that I'd never heard before - different take, much rockier, subtle strings and louder drums. Was so excited to tell people about it, but then I woke up. Bummer!

noticed lately on the Manics Youtube channel a few videos have been uploaded in HD... why are we only just seeing these videos in such good quality now?? Still, it's wonderful to watch them all in better resolution

I love them, but is there anything in the history of this band that isn't adapted from another band's story? I was just watching a Smiths concert on an old Whistle Test and Morrissey signed off with, "Stay handsome!".

Think the use of the AI scaler is down to laziness in the marketing department. I would be surprised if the original film/tapes are lost but the cynic in me thinks they just take the 480p YouTube uploads and bung into the AI upscaler. You can really tell with the Faster video as the high contrast makes it difficult to resolve resulting in an awful mess. The timing seems to be based around anniversaries so I suspect we'll have to wait til 2026 for the EMG videos.
