Fingers crossed mate!
We’re off to Portsmouth so if we get that and DLTNDU (as well as the other new songs) then I’ll be very happy. |

Massively! I’m really not keen on Into The Waves but if we get
Orwellian The Secret… Complicated Illusions Don’t Let The Night Afterending Then I don’t care if they play You Stole The Sun over and over for the last 15 songs. Hope you had / have a good one mate. |

Afterending is currently my favourite song on the new album AND THEY PLAYED IT Sapporo sounded amazing. All the new songs are sounding really good .. spectator of suicide was a treat ...stay beautiful was loadsa fun ..there wasn't any trouble at least where I was ..so no furious James. Had a couple enthusiastic people in front of me so taking photos was tricky. Opted to film stuff instead ...lost half of Sapporo ..dunno wot happened there.
Got the guitar hero and Nicky tee. I'll get Sean next time ..could only fit two in my bag Got yelled at for not having my covid pass ready so yelled back that I did but it logged me out ...was trying to pull the letter out to show him.. think he managed to see a bit of the top left hand corner and he waved me in

Well that was very cool. Hearing Afterending was immense and although I have heard them play ME live 30+ times since 1993 I was still close to tears when they came on and opened with that.
I love the Apollo but really, £6.55 for a pint of San Miguel is a piss take too far…

Afterending was fab. It's only taken five gigs but I've now seen them play more songs from the album they're actually promoting than from Generation Terrorists Time to wheel out Repeat, lads!
Very fun gig. Little bit of a weird one for me as my ladylove was with me, but I really enjoyed it and she loved it. Queuing was a bit chaotic with the O2 priority gubbins. Crowd seemed well up for it, you could definitely tell the band were loving the response. Highlight of the night was James spitting out a massive blob of phlegm and it travelling in a truly impressive arc across the stage and landing about four metres away from him. Good times.

That were fun - the sound and atmosphere was so much better than when I'd seen them at Halifax. Some random thoughts/memories....
After stripping back his guitar playing during the RIF tour James seems to be embracing his guitar hero status more than ever, wandering up to the crowd for plenty of his solos. Still Snowing in Sapporro was absolutely beautiful live, although the quiet bit between first chorus and second verse was interrupted by a fan screaming "When are you going to marry me James?" (or words to that affect) Nicky went on a rant whilst James was soloing away during You Love Us - not sure what he said but did end with a a very loud proclamation of C*nts! For the acoustic section James offered us the choice of an old song with swearing.... then got such a loud cheer he didn't give us the second option! Stay Beautiful was dedicated to the memory of Simon Brown. Yes, £6.55 for a pint of San Miguel is a bit of a piss take, but I'm pretty sure it was the same price when I went to a gig at the Ritz a couple of weeks ago. Suspect it's a very similar price in all the O2 venues. Overall a nice varied set list, the new songs are fitting into the set well, one nice rarity and the boys looking like they've got a refound thirst for performing live! |

I couldn't hear him very well over James, and I can't comment on the last part, but it sounded like he was actually singing the chorus of Pretty Vacant, and then said something like "we stole that bit!".
