Just thought the tiger cub looked cute! Sorry Rich! Yeah, I went for EMG first because I was intrigued by the song Austrailia that someone had mentioned to me when I'd just got into them. I was desperate to hear it for some reason. (Wasn't disappointed either! )

Know Your Enemy sold more in Cuba than over here!
Bradders gave Castro 20,000 copies in return for a truckload of Havana cigars! |

When Truth was out the Manics were pretty damn big, and the 4 singles all did well and got loads of radio / video plays. I saw the videos for Tolerate and Everlasting and went out and bought Truth straight away, and have never looked back! The album was #1 for a 3 weeks on the trot, so there's a lot of copies sold instantly!

Remember that pic in NME of James with a bag and them saying it contained copies of KYE that he was going to try and flog or something!

I miss 1998. Some good stuff with plenty of misery thrown in as well.

haha vaguely, he'd probably made the most of the special offer of 3 boxes for the price of 2 of Mr Kipling's apricot pies in the spa though instead!...they were in Cardiff the day it came out weren't they? Nicky had the whole city covered in the KYE album grafitti on every available wall space to promote it if i recall.

They were like two groups though as a lot of fans who brought EMG and TIMT were not interested in digging out the earlier albums, a lot of people thought they were a 'new group when they brought out EMG

It was riding a crest of a wave which kept going to the Millennium gig....Truth is probably the album i've played most thinking about it because i never stopped playing it for those 2 years. Life felt good back then compared to now too. |

littlesue...yeah, thats when the noticeable change in the fanbase started to alter as well, attracted a whole new set of fans whilst almost 'pushing away' quite a lot of the early Manics fans not impressed with the new direction they were taking.
Horses for courses i guess. |

I had Truth first, I kind of ignored it and then was shocked to find out it's their most popular
