I was thinking about them the other day during a conversation about 4chan. I wonder if they ever found their way there.

On a side note, remember when for a brief period of time the official site linked to foreverdelayed.org.uk/forum as their "official" forum? Or is my memory playing tricks on me?
Yes, that happened.

For those of us that got playing guitar via MSP, I'm amazed and delighted whenever I load http://manicsguitar.20m.com and find that it's still online

Also remember StayBeautiful having someone called Tunde/Babatunde who was quite active? Wonder what happened to them.

Oh wow, I thought that died years ago, that's JamieManic's site. Still miss Manics.nl (maybe not the right address) which had detailed descriptions for each lyric reference. Nothing quite like it since.

ThisisYesterday has finally died but the forum remains online(basically Nigel talking to himself for 10 years).

I read a post a few mins ago and then upon investigation there are very few people left….13 people. WOW. Now I feel very old and sad. I have been a twat on here for many years and even had to change my details as i was banned for a twatty post.

Is this the end of the forum??

I have said it before and I will say it again. I loved the way in which staybeautiful ended. She was a real CUNT.

I dont have facebook and never will.

Im not sure what to say. Thank you I suppose. I will keep checking in every now and then just to be sure.

Brilliant shouts. I also liked MadBob’s guitar site as well, I think it’s still running too.

Was a really good time for Manics forums back then, I remember another site which was basically just a load of MP3s / clips from live shows - awful quality but really rare stuff at the time like clips of Nicky’s Michael Stipe comment, Patrick Bateman live, a small intro to We Are All Bourgeois Now etc.

The official forum was pretty cliquey and toxic at times but I do miss it.

The official forum was great fun - kept me entertained during six months of joblessness after finishing uni. But it was pretty toxic at times even by 2006's standards, god knows what it would look like through the lens of 2022. Has there ever been anything officially said by Sony (or even the band) on the whole episode, or has it been quietly forgotten?

Do any other bands (major or otherwise) have official forums these days or is it all social media?

I was going to bring it up (as someone who posts there still), but it's effectively dead. Pretty much one person left battling against the dying of the light. Take into account that Muse are a bigger band, have just come off an album release and embarking on a world tour, and their forum still sees less traffic than FD. The fanbase has mostly moved to reddit and dischord which is a nauseating swirl of repeating threads of fan art, covers and people claiming top singles like Knights of Cydonia are underrated...

Reading comments like "criminally underrated band" under Manics' videos on youtube always makes me chuckle. I mean, they've had more Top 10 hits in the UK than Depeche Mode, haven't they?

True, but then you see stuff like Santiago Sunrise on Spotify with under 50,000 streams, and, well, they have a point.

They're probably in the UK top 1% of commercially successful bands (and not to mention, wealthiest individuals). As Sean says in the documentary, "and no one knows who we are"

I like to think that in recent years they've become happier with their lot and come to peace with not being the next Queen/Beatles
