This. Definitely not Golden Platitudes. The la-la-las at the end are just sooo tacky. If it wasn't for them, I could like the song.

I wouldn't mind seeing Platitudes released if they get a 3rd single. Got to be Postcards next though. Epic tune! Love it.

I voted PFAYM.
I quite like GP but the piano intro reminds me of the Lifeblood era somehow. Also, the Later appearances are generally a decent guide as to which songs will be released from an album so my guess is SKON and PFAYM. I don't see any need for a 4th single either. |

I think Some Kind Of Nothingness will be the next single and rightly so.

Golden Platitudes would be one of the worst single choices, it's the closest thing to hookless on the record.
SKON should be the next single (it seems to grab casuals, unexpectedly), but Billion Balconies wouldn't be an awful choice. |

I'd put it up there with my top ten Manics songs of the 2000's. A diamond in the rough on this record. |

Hope it doesn't get released as a single, for me it's one of the weaker songs on the album.Bit bland.

SKON, Postcards or Balconies.
I think the vocal on Platitiudes is awesome but the song is a bit meh.

at the moment Golden Platitudes is my favourite track, but SKON is a close second and I predict in a few months will be my favourite

Please not SKON. Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Please etc...
I don't want to be the laughing stock down the pub on Friday. Release ABBFTS and I can walk in the Dog and Etc... with my head held high - 'Ha! Told you they were good, didn't I!?' Please! |

I Think I Found It should be a single, if not next. Nobody ever notices the second and third single though so not really much point, despite being the best song on the album.

I have a friend who has previously had no time for the Manics who keeps on asking me for a copy of the track. |

I feel this song is very underrated.

It has yearning about it - yearning - it came on the radio the other day and stuck out like a sore thumb. It's the song the ADFL brigade want, the Oasis and Blur fans who you see standing at Manics gigs dreaming of a return to football hooliganism and Minors' strikes until ADFL gets played and then coming to life. It's the only potential no.1 material on there - though will probably get to no.2.
