I'm sure the new one will be a bit 'different' in some way, and I'm sure the 'dark Abba' song will sound exactly like the Manics. |

Dave Eringa posted a photo of JDB using a new microphone and said 'the band' loved the sound of it, so it would confirm that things are progressing. I know they've said that anyway, but good to see evidence of it.

A bit off topic, but, well, regarding the sentiment of not wanting to write about the lockdown - They already have Quarantine (In My Place Of), and that's enough. (Yes, I'm aware it was written years ago, of course, but from the artist's perspective, it would feel like needlessly repeating oneself.)
Besides that, there's many other interesting topics that come out of this pandemic crisis, no need to dedicate a whole album to the lockdown only. Anyway, looking forward to this new album. Sounds interesting by the descriptions so far. But then, there's no album of theirs I dislike anyway. ♡

I would assume the guys, especially James, would always be working on music at home anyway, so they're not gonna just have nothing to work with when they get together. I am still hopeful for a new album by late summer. Not sure about gigs to be honest, that might be another good year away sadly.

I secretly want "Still Snowing In Sapporo" to be their "Going loco down in Acapulco" crossover megahit.
Just from the title! For the second track I've just got "Dear Diary/Why was I christened 'Biank'?" I know, I know. I'm sorry. Stages of Manics material excitement with the pisstaking! |

I don't think I've ever needed a Manics album as much as I seem to need this one.

Exciting to see new titles thrown out to us as a teaser I really hope they can get it recorded in, say, the spring time and release it in early summer. It's all I ask! And for covid to disappear!

As I got diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes after going to the Wolves gig of The Holy Bible anniversary tour and ending up in hospital I'm kind of hoping this is the Manics way of saying sorry for the scrappy, rainsoaked setlist I got handed to me as they carted me off in the ambulance! He he! (Gina sent me a lovely nice neat version of said setlist, fear not!). Or it's related to something entirely different!

It's a Zoological term*! A delay in development due to regularly and recurring periods of adverse environmental conditions
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diap...g%20conditions. It probably won't sound like Of Walking Abortion, but it could be a look at how the maggots small blind and worthless** are some decades later? *=Yes, I only know this word because I saw it on the tracklist and hadn't heard of it before. **=Well I didn't call them that! And just my guesswork. Might turn out to be something else. |

Not the most fun I've ever had after a gig but doing alot better these days apart from being a human pincushion and insulin doing it's job (thank goodness for Canadian airpilot turned doctor guy who discovered insulin!). There are people dealing with far worse than me so I can't complain too much. Most rock and roll way to get a diagnosis ever! 😁
