Here's my Symphony of Motor Neurone.
It was dictated to me by my Archangel Richard through 'sound collages'. 'Shiver, shiver' did an old boy 'I wanna. Have ice cream for lunch' Ice cream's the reason I've lost control 'Phish food, phish food' I plead by phone Shiver shiver, I guess it'll be a Meal on Wheels. Let's face it guys if Richey wrote a lyric called 'My Pet Dick' and the only lines were 'I want to stroke my pet Dick' repeated 135 times you'd all be cooing over it as high art. |

If you write a thread with a question then there could be different opinions, so really unless its about agree with the post then I dont think you need a question.

There are plenty of mainstream songs that have no real point than to sell the album. I don't consider the manics in the same stream, as their songs are authentic with reason to be on the album. If I listen to some more than others one day they're still in the same manics vein. Could they even write songs that are not distinct to them as a band.

I think you might be reading jovial sarcasm as aggression.
Besides we live in a world where You Stole the Sun exists so you're both wrong...

Well that is your opinion. I don't see how the song is dangerous. It doesn't have illicit or dangerous instruction. Anyone can interpret a song differently and see other meanings. It was written in a different era.You could say that about the recent albums and the Holy Bible with irony pain and introspection throughout being harmful to richey at the time. I actually like the lighter songs also with not many lyrics.

That is your and Routine Builder's opinion.
I don't think a song from the 90s stigmatises any condition. Those suffering with tourette's know their symptoms and the actual stigmata attached. If you look at the song in depth there are elements where richey emphasises prejudgements, ignorance and pain which is far from jovial sarcasm. |

As it's a manics forum I thought I would, since I've always been a fan of the band and the albums.
