Another song that uses the piano (and wow! It's overridden The Secret He Had Missed which had overwritten Orwellian!) might be a war crime to post a video to. So will use lyrics from the non Manics song that has piano
The first of reciters I saw eternal light FD:???... Best of vocal fighters Beyond human sight FD: Are you sure it's a Cartoon theme? Where thorns are a teaser I've played a double juex Yherushalaim at Easter FD: N-no! I have spent years trying to forget!!! I cry I pray mon dieu I cry I pray mon dieu oh you've heard it. STILL love The Secret He Had Missed but if you'd told yourself they'd invoke that band at the time (and make it work) etc |

Start of song very reminiscent of the ChangesNowBowie version of Aladdin Sane.
Been listening to the song all day. Much prefer to Orwellian. Like the video as well. |

My first thought was that it was just a Scandi Dylan's & Caitlin, with Waterloo swapped in for Don't Go Breaking My Heart, but it's grown on me very quickly (keep on finding myself humming 'as your brother'). Put it on in the car this evening and was thinking that this will sound very good on the radio too. Obviously Radio 2 ,but that's clearly the intention.
She is doing a fantastic Abba impression on the vocals but it's the guitar parts that lift it as a song for me. Some really interesting bits going on, especially in the outro (or is that a synth by that point?). Great to see 'er off of detectorists' in the video too Last edited by Glyn; 16-07-2021 at 20:38. |

Enjoyed it more than Orwellian. Cant help but hear Dont Stop Believing when James plays that fast little guitar part. You can really hear hes switched songwriting tools with these new ones.

Sean's staring into my soul.
Anyway, nice as always. Looking forward to the whole album.

I never found myself returning to Orwellian much but this is stellar

I'm curious about how they'll do it live, assuming Julia Cumming won't be joining them onstage anytime soon, at least not when the tour is set to happen
1. All James, a la YLAINE live? 2. Pre-recorded vocals, like Europa Geht Durch Mich? 3. Wayne Murray sings Julia's parts like he did with Dylan & Caitlin?

I think maybe The Anchoress will be asked if she'd like to perform it live. Failing that, I reckon Wayne Murray will do the vocals. The new songs give Naysmith a chance to shine

I think James will just sing it all. Hopefully he continues sporting his "can't be arsed" look. Really digging it.

This is pretty catchy after a couple of listens. It’s their best single since YLAINE.
The ending cuts itself short like everything they do nowadays but Ken Bruce and Zoe Ball have shows to get on with. |
