#29 Nostradamus may have predicted the Manics... "And contrarians from the nation West of the English shall cause waves in musical circles and will play at the turn of the age in a large cathedral, and many shall see them on small boxes of light, also the very life-blood of these people will be under-appreciated, even by creators themselves" is a rough translation.

#30 James loves that amp, but Nicky hates it and Sean just isn't bothered one way or the other.

#31 Sessions for Generation Terrorists were fraught due to fundamental disagreements within the band regarding the classification of Jaffa Cakes as either a cake or biscuit. The 1991 VAT tribunal did little to quell the arguments; refusing to accept the court's verdict on the matter, Sean quit the sessions, leading to the programmed drums you hear on the finished album today.

#32 Original bassist Flicker eventually found fame as a popular photo sharing website.

#33 Original bongo / triangle player Pete 'Photobucket' Buckét (son of Hyacinth and Richard) followed the same path as Flicker, but is even less well-remembered by fans these days.

#34 Richey was eventually banned from the Cardiff Virgin Megastore after routinely getting caught swapping the Screamadelica and Reign In Blood discs in their cases.

#35 Plans for the other three Manics to follow Nicky's lead and have a nickname based on their favourite DIY supply were abandoned when it was pointed out to James that the name Jimmy Nail was already in use in showbiz circles and he refused to consider other possibilities.

When you take the first three letters from each album, the letters can be arranged to say Spontaneous RJ fetus - eleventh egg Loki hoofprint. This is deliberate.

#37 Richey was disappointed when the band vetoed his idea of listing the titles of every track on The Holy Bible in reverse, "to demonstrate society's backwards approach" to many of the songs' subject matters. In the end a compromise was made, and he was allowed to retain two reversed titles: 'Revol' (actually titled 'Lover'), and 'PCP' (actually titled 'PCP').

#38 Don't Be Evil is the only Manic Street Preachers song where the initials of the title (D B E) is also the chord sequence use for the song's chorus.

#39 during thb richey did a real push for body and facial hair that did not fare well. he was getting heavily indulged into the must have 20 hairs around nipples as well as grooming a fine trim of facials under his lips. rebellion against glam or guerilla style? alas, it could only end in a goatee.

#40 Following the success of Everything Must Go, Blackpool council reported a 6% increase in the number of people dressed up as Elvis visiting the pier during 1996 compared with 1995.

That's not just an untruth, that's an absolute whopper! (sorry)

#42 Mark Morrison is secretly ashamed he beat A Design to Life to the number 1 spot.
He was once asked if he regrets releasing 'Return of the Mack' in time to beat the Manics' classic to the top of the charts and he said 'No, not at all', but internally he was actually thinking 'but I dooooo, but I doo-doo-doooo'.
