I'd imagine that the boxset would include a re-issue of the CCCP dogtag, similar to the AAA pass in the GT boxset. I'd imagine there would be a Simon Price essay. And a scrapbook featuring original lyric sheets, the original painting Richey had in mind as the cover and ideas for the album cover. I know they've already done the possible Yes poster.
Maybe also it could include more background and demo's for Judge Y'rself and how they got embroiled in the 1995 Hollywood film.

I'd like to think that they would also include the notes left by Richey that were used as the basis for Journal For Plague Lovers, but that might be too close to the bone. Possibly inappropriate given that it was intended for the next/future album.

What are the chances of the band finally ditching the "atrocity" that is 'MyPlay' so that if I am (and lets face it .. I am) going to drop a decent amount of well earned money on whatever (and all) stuff they celebrate THB20 with, that there will be:
a) responsive customer service and b) shipping to the US which seem to get excluded for Futorology, but was available as recent as all the RTF stuff.

Perhaps there's a greater likelihood of them touring THB in the US for 16 dates ..... *sigh*

The record companies must love you.

When did this awful 10th anniversary, 20th anniversary, 25th anniversary re release bullshit by bands begin?

How can you justify spending upwards of £100 for a CD you probably already own more than one copy of already just because it comes with a flimsy booklet or a tacky tour pass replica?

Paint a vulgar picture.

Someone wrote on page 1 how they're not the same band anymore so a tour/thb gigs would be wrong. YES. Remember the days of DIY stencil t shirts? Even the fans are so far removed from the philosophy of the Richey-era band.

Get a grip, people. It's a money making exercise. Just say NO.

(yes, ok so i can't tell you what to do with your money, but LOOK AROUND. people can't afford to EAT. i'd rather donate to helping other people than lining the pockets of some big rip-off corporation).

It's my money, I can do da fuq I want with it. That's the justification.

I don't have a problem with the fact they exist, it's when they cost so much money they are taking advantage of the captive audience that I take issue with.

They're really not that expensive. I've seen much more absurd special editions than the ones the Manics have released.

I'm sure people are discerning enough to know whether they're being fleeced or not. It's kind of patronising to assume otherwise in my opinion.

There's the US Faster video on the 10th Anniversary DVD, pretty sure that's the Astoria gig. The "Yes" video appears to use bootleg footage of that gig.

I definitely recall seeing an alternate ADFL vid on TV once using old footage from 1994, that I cannot for the life of me find now. Could well have been Astoria footage.

Unless there are some "Must-Hear" demos from that period, I think the 10th Anniversary reissue is a pretty definitive document of that era, sonically and visually. If the Astoria footage is releasable on DVD, that would definitely be of interest, but that's about it.

I think the occasion deserves to be marked in some way though. A few UK dates maybe, but not a full-blown tour.

Sounds good! What about a compromise?

SET #1: Futurology in full, with everything you suggest. Complete with guest vocalists where possible.

(Intermission)

SET #2: 5-song "Holy Bible" segment, with songs rotating each night. By the end, EVERY song will have been played at least once. The best performances from these could be recorded for the purposes of releasing a "Holy Bible Live" album.

Intermission, or 2 solo songs from James, then...

SET #3: 45 mins of "Greatest hits" - Or maybe shake that up. Heck, maybe they could even leave out ADFL for once.

That would make for a solid 2-hour gig, with something for everyone.

Damn right. We've still only heard four songs live, and I suppose an acoustic Between the Clock and the Bed. There's still four tracks (I think?) from RTF that haven't been played at all too.

In an ideal world, we'd get one half Holy Bible set, second half some RTF and Futurology tracks, with the big 4/5 regular hits too.

Not a chance am I buying another reissue.

Give it the proper, non-picture disc, vinyl release it has always deserved and I'll be happy.

I disagree, it's not about that. There's plenty of manics fans who are collectors and want to be completeists. That's the audience the label knows they can exploit. And the postcards box set was that expensive, imo.
