I felt like that at first, but it grew on me and now I'm more used to hearing it live than on record and Richard Hawley hasn't been present at any of their recent gigs, so James does all the vocals anyway.

Am I the only one who thinks Let's Go To War is by far the weakest track so far?

Going to wait and see what the studio version is like - the bit with live backing vocals is going to sound much better on record, surely

It's Simon Price's favorite track on the album... Make of that what you will!

It's the one I like the least... though I've only heard live bootlegs. I suspect I'll like the album version a lot more.

Oh yeah I don't dislike it or anything, just the one that doesn't get stuck in my head.
I still think the title track is the best, and will sound huge on record... But then I love when Nicky takes the vocals.

Let's Go To War is memorable for the riff (I must visit Alton Towers again...), the rest of the song is quite forgettable though.

Thumbs down

Is it a proper english disease or is it just you bunch of guys charged to write hollow vanities à go-go? Some users are very tiresome these days, ranting into the void. Catch yourself up, mates, for sake of intelligence... FD used to be such a nice place, but now it mostly seems to be a twining, dying plant in the foolish hands of mediocrity.

The Wire sure was right.

P.S.: The content of this post isn't directed to all users, of course.

On record, it is sublime. It's much beefier and heavier with some fantastic backing vocals.

I really don't have any problem with R. Hawley vocal. It's just that it doesn't sound like a proper Manics song. Well, tbh I didn't enjoy listening to it live last tour, not due to James's vocal but because it's too long and slow. Not the kind of song I enjoy hearing live. I'd rather them to play other two songs instead of it. Something from JFPL or Lifeblood for example. My two fav albums, after THB,but sadly they never play anything from them.

Lol sorry but you failed to articulate why you don't like the song.

I guess I can chalk it that one down to you don't like it and you don't know why.

Figures.

Figures.
1: it's whimsical, plodding along and ultimately adds little to the album.

2: The vocals are too low in the mix which makes it hard to hear the lyrics

3: musically, it's bside material at best. It's too simple.
