I guess things change with time but these days I'd rather go down the pub, stand a bit further back and have a dance. Perhaps if Wire ever got back on the booze I'd be tempted back down the front.
Totally reasonable! The times where I've not queued I've had a good time regardless; just not been able to see diddly-squat!

And yeah, Wire + sauce = win

Haven't actually thought about this in a while. Was talking to a mate who'd done 80+ and couldn't give him a number. Here we go:

- Nottingham Area - 2004
- Derby Assembly Rooms - 2005 (probably the best)
- Rock City, Nottingham - 2007
- Leeds festival - 2008
- Wolverhampton Civic - 2009
- Engine Shed, Lincoln - 2010 (by far the worst)
- O2 Arena, London - 2011
- 100 Club, London - 2013
- Brixton Academy, London - 2014

Hmmm, I really need to get my number up.

Just out of interest why was the engine shed the worst ? I live in Lincoln and remember the crowd were extremely static and dull.

That is exactly why. I used to live in Lincoln, so I can say with confidence that, while beautiful, it's a town of Hollyoaks students of Wetherspoons dads. The gig comprised almost entirely of the latter, just killing time in the midweek waiting for the hits.

Throw in the fact that the Engine Shed is a truly bollocks venue and essentially a massive garage and you've got the makings of a truly depressing gig. I was bored, and felt very guilty for feeling that way.

I haven't got a clue about how many Manics gigs I've been to over the years. I wish I'd kept a record of all the gigs (from all bands) that I've attended. I'll try and work it out soon!

I've attended at least one gig on each tour since the Forever Delayed tour as well as one solo JDB date.
