Here's a link to a documentary about Augustus and Gwen John (the subject of the song The Secret He Had Missed).

I have been listening to them since 2006, and I know it's not that much, but in Italy they are virually unknown. Since then they have been my favourite musical artist ever, and again, it's quite weird when I tell this to an Italian person. But they have been my main soundtrack since then (and I listen to a lot of music), and every time there is a new album coming out, I remember myself when I had just started university and got to know them. Now I'm 15 years older, I live in the opposite side of my country, and I am happy as before. As ever. Thanks to the Manics.

I agree with you: with the RIF era we've had four b-sides, two on the deluxe version and two on the Japanese version. This time it seems that there are not b-sides, and I'm quite sad for this.

I fear not: on the official credits Nicky is credited as "bass", while in the demos he's credited as "bass/vocals" (because he sings two additional demos). So, I think this time there won't be a Nicky-sung song, which is quite weird (first time since SATT?).

Well Nicky must be saving his songs for his solo album. |

Although he did have a couple of b-sides there. So this could be the first time he's not recorded vocals for an album this century.
Hi gabo, Ross from FSOLBoard here. I see you all over the place (did I spot you on the Therapy? boards a while back?) |

I've lost hope for his solo album, I thought it was supposed to be out with James' one (they mentioned the 2006 thing of the two solo albums and then the new Manics album) but it didn't, so I thought it was shelved...

Ross! Long time no see (just...a couple of days? lol). No, I never listened to Therapy?, so it's someone else. If you are interested, Flint (the FD user) did/is doing for Manics what you are doing for FSOL, a song-by-song "review", in the same fashion. He started long ago (I recall reading it more than 10 years ago, I'm sure). So glad to spot you here. I love when someone obsessed by music like you and me is obsessed by two very different "bands".

Ah yes, his Manics Songs site partially influenced the structure of mine, actually. I wanted to do something that covered all their tracks, and thought his blog did it really well, so nicked the idea, hah.
And yeah, it's good to know there are still people passionate about such diverse music. To this day I still come across people who only like 'guitar' music or 'electronic' music and it always baffles me. |

Just don't like the intro of the new song, feels like a jingle intro to daytime TV/News before 5pm
Song is alright catchy chorus, somewhat SATT & Postcards to me era |
