Hell, I think it's gotten weaker live, at least judging by clips from the last year or so. James doesn't even put in the effort to sing some of the lines half the time which is pretty sad.

Oh, and I got into them a little before SATT and I don't hold YLAINE in super high regard, lol. It's a catchy song but it's not a big standout for me

May be he'll put a bit more effort in with the O2 gig as Nina will be there as well, so he won't have to sing all the parts (not like he does anyway, but you know)

I like it as an acoustic, but full band it always falls flat for me.

Sorry if this has been posted a million times before but I read this and laughed because they've reported it as though Nicky was seriously considering turning the Manics into a strip act...

that's difficult to study politics and international relations at the university and be a Manics fan. for example
- we were talking about 1968 and the events, like Israeli-Arab war, attack at Czechoslovakia and I mentioned events in May in Paris, when students protested, I wanted to scream - Situationists!! they were situationists!!! Nicky is inspired by Situationists!!! My Nicky!!
- we had a subject Theory of International Relations and we were speaking about Sun Tzu I wanted to say ''Oh you bloody idiots!! My Manics released Know Your Enemy!!'
and it's only Tuesday...

On Wikipedia it says that Richey played piano. I've never heard this anywhere else before, and couldn't find anything else about it. Anyone know if this is true, or just your typical Wikipedia bullshit?

The demos for The Holy Bible are really fucking good. I wish there were more to be found than just Die In The Summertime and Mausoleum.

Great moments in Manics songwriting no. 94: Nicky looks around the studio at the potted plants, thinks "That fuchsia has been here forever."

Great moments in Manics b-side songwriting no 34:
After failing to come up with ideas for b-sides for THB, Richey and James go into a bar and James asked for "Two cold beers". Richey then gets excited and shouts "THAT'S IT!!!"

So I browse tumblr in search of some Nicky photos and I find someone encouraging to watch the footage from Blackwood Little Theatre in 1986 and there's something like that written

"it’s pretty painful to watch, because the footage is sliced up worse than Richey’s arm, but still"

and I just died of laughter!!!
