And I think he picked Orwellian for 2020's.

Forgotten what was picked for sixties. I did download Absolute player but the amount of fucking adverts you had to sit through when changing channels was torture!
EDIT: Probably nothing from the sixties as it was five decades so maybe Orwellian played as a treat.

Nicky Wire due on BBC R2's Sounds Of The 90's tonight at ten.

I was watching a program on music photography on PBS last night (a bit like a poorly funded BBC) and it featured Nicky talking about Polaroids and music posters! First and only time I have ever seen the Manics on TV in the US.

Getting into these guys after a Spotify algorithm bump:

Desperate Journalist - Personality Girlfriend

Motown Junk 7” spotted at around the 01:40 mark!

(From that, and their general attire, I’m guessing they’re Manics fans - could well be behind the curve here, maybe they’ve been mentioned here before…?)

Not quite tv/radio, but I was on a Qatari airways flight the other day that had the demo of A Song For The Sadness on its rock playlist.

That gave me a double take when I heard it, given the song and what nicky’s thoughts are on the champagne socialists that were worming their way into no. 10 at the time. I can well imagine whoever chose it knew exactly what they were doing.
