Maybe James does the backing vocals? *hopes!*

Ah that wasn't aimed at you. I haven't heard her yet so I don't know whether I'm agreement or not.

This.
IMO a song that is sung in its entirety by someone else is not a Manics song even if it's written by them. Girl From Tiger Bay sung by Shirley Bassey or the Kylie songs are not Manics songs, regardless of how much I like them.
So if it's only the LeBon woman singing then release it as a stand alone track or give it to her, just don't put it on a Manics album.
Regardless of this, I'm really curious whether a Manics-penned song would sound decent with her vocals, backing, duet or other, as I really dislike her style of singing on her solo work I've checked out.

All I care about is whether the song is good or not.

Anyone who worries about guest vocalists must be dreading the new QOTSA album.

So I assume that was aimed at me or James then? If so, I fail to see how, unless I missed a definition change of the word 'troll'

Cate Le Bon is pretty damn good. I'd be interested in hearing this as long as it sounds nothing like PFAYM.

Who is the girl who sings? She an upcoming artist or something? Any new Manics stuff I'm excited about. I just hope they release something this year and tour. Or release a DVD. Or a new book. Something!

She's been around for a while but she's not that big outside of Wales, kinda folky. Did some vocals on the Neon Neon album.

NME says she's a Welsh singer and mentioned she's also worked with Gruff Rhys.

Didn't she sing on Gruff's 'Candy Lion' too? I like her voice.

Same here.

RE: Cate Le Bon, my first reaction was 'Urghhh...why?' but now I'm just waiting until I hear it, don't really care as long as the song itself and the vocals are good. In my opinion the band can do whatever the fuck what they want. It's all part of adapting their own style and image which they've done throughout their career anyway. I mean, this obviously isn't any 'worse' than carrying on without Richey, for example, is it?
