I'm trying, buy I'm just not digging the new song - mostly it's aesthetic/production.
WAAAY too poppy for me.
I like my Manics more raw sounding, with a harder edge than what we're hearing here.
I mean, sure, they haven't had that sound since Journal, but they're getting even further away from it now.

Tickets for Brighton are £45, so hopefully other venues will be similar

Bath Forum: £39.50 (+ Booking Fees), so probably £60 then by the time postage is added...

I'll try to get Brighton but I think I'm going to just book Wembley this time ...

I keep thinking the chorus sounds a little like 30 Year War at times.

EDIT: Ah, looks like two per customer. That's great, fuck the scalpers. I just have to decide which two to go for in the morning and which ones to leave for Friday.

Seems to be per customer (and maximum 4 on Friday). O2 members also get access tomorrow at the relevant venues.

BTW Newcastle stalls are standing.

I sent my friend the link to the video on Youtube and told her about the mentions of Abba the band had mentioned while recording it or whatever as she's a big Abba fan, and she listened to it and said she got an Abba vibe from it

I think that’s actually its strength. The production is very assured and it knows exactly where it wants to be. No half measures on this one. Of course the song is in a position on the pop/rock sound spectrum that X percent of Manics fans will never enjoy - but that’s just the way it goes. We’ve all got different range of taste. Really looking forward to the album now.

Song is still stuck in my head. Might be my favourite first single since Peeled Apples. And they couldn't be more different.
