Ooooohhh, I got reported by Acephoto today too!
The post has been removed by Tumblr. It was a rather low-res photo of Richey from 1991 (I'd captioned it "bandages, booze & black lace" if anyone remembers that one). I found the image without any photographer's provenience so it was a risk to have posted it, yes. I think it had fewer than 25 notes. I recently did four Tumblr posts with 10 Manics photos each so I was worried that maybe one photo would be reported from the batch and I wouldn't know which one. I guess it could still happen although I have done my best not to post or re-blog anything likely to be under Acephoto copyright. If my Tumblr account got deleted, it would probably do wonders for my distraction levels/time wasting habits, TBQH.

In the end, every action we make comes thrown back to us. It's a pity he doesn't seem to have learnt that thing after this incident. Looks like he's the type that plays the victim every time.

Worth noting, although most on Tumblr are likely to be aware by now: it isn't just AcePhoto reporting Manics blogs at present. Camera Press is also reporting the use of their copyrighted photos. To see what is considered theirs, search here but also include photos from the same photoshoots even if the exact frames aren't showing up. Their copyrighted images include the two 4REAL photos, those infamous ones of Nicky falling out of his combat trousers and quite a few of the lovely backstage leopard print era ones.
I was reported by Camera Press for posting a Select magazine cover that used one of these photos, so it doesn't have to be a direct lifting of an image to be a copyright violation.

Has anyone emailed Tumblr about the situation? I don't know why this grinds my jimmies so much, but it does. I'm guessing Tumblr send automated responses totally irrelevant to a detailed message you write to them? I like the accounts with heavy MSP content, especially for the gems that surface on there.

I filed a counter DCMA. They replied saying they will need to show my address and phone number to Splattery… so of course I'm now wary, given what a petty bully he is.
