Haha, I know you do. It's a Manics song. Still, me not really liking it didn't stop me buying the 7", promo cd and mispressed promo cd. Jesus, I need a life.

I've heard them rip on Gold Against the Soul a lot in interviews. And to as far as splitting up after Lifeblood, I recall hearing a member of the band say something to the effect of Your Love Alone is Not Enough was a career saver.

It's tricky because Nicky has also said that he loves the guitar sound in GATS and that they liked Lifeblood but it left them unsatisfied when they saw the reaction to it, I'd say that he would hate Lifeblood more, GATS can be put down to 'youthful naivety' and a desire to write more hit songs when they were young, Lifeblood was just a critical disaster for no good reason (though a wonderful one at that).

They have a love/hate relationship with The Holy Bible that's for sure. Apart from Faster (and the acoustic This is Yesterday) it's massively underplayed live, they seem to hate 2 out of its 3 singles and no matter how big is the fan-push, Yes is still not as much of a live staple as it should be. They are still too emotional about this album, which surprises me as both EMG and JFPL are more on the emotions-side than THB.
Oh and Lifeblood is a wonderful album, so is KYE. |

Don't know if this has been said already in this particular thread- but - most recently, I would say the album the Manics hate the most would either be "Going Back" by Phil Collins or "Science and Faith" by the Script.

I'd love to hear the audio cassette Nicky gave James for that one. |
