Loved it at the beginning (bar the last three songs), but then got bored of it after JFPL blew me away. I then found new respect for it after I heard how bland PFAYM is. PFAYM is supposed to be a rock album, but SATT rocks way harder and isn't padded out with strings and choirs. The IS-TSGD-R triplet is brilliant.

SATT was the album that got me back into manic die-hard fandom ..tho late..i missed the first tour Would've loved to see them at the Astoria. The song that did it wasnt YLAINE but Autumn Song, the song i frequently slag off on the tour forum .
Indian Summer is one of my favourite songs on it, nothing wrong with it at all, the title track is the greatest single never released and WCH was a good song destroyed. The only other song im not much into is I'm a patsy and my favourite b-side is Welcome to the deadzone. Postcards is definitely the better album. |

Hard to choose between Postcards and Tigers actually. Think I put Postcards above Tigers in my album list but can't quite remember!

Can't stand most of it. Very much got the feeling that James's best stuff that year had already been used on his solo album. Holds very little note for me and the singles were just TOO plain. Although the solo in Autumnsong is quite good, and Fearless Punk Ballad was a great B

This is the album that got me into the Manics and really sparked this obsession. From the first track I was dumstruck, thinking 'How the fuck have this band passed me by!?' The rest is history. I love every song on it, which is pretty much unheard of.
Also the B-Sides for this were awesome. |

Hate it.
The good songs on it are: - Your Love Alone (good single to get them back an audience) - Indian Summer (I much prefer this to ADFL) - Winterlovers (the lyrics can go a bit pear shaped but it's still nice) The worst song on it has to be the Working Class Hero cover, what did John Lennon do to James to deserve that?! One of the best b-side eras though, I won't knock those at all.

For me personally YLAINE leaves a really sour taste in my mouth. It's just too try-hard.

I love a few tracks such as Send Away The Tigers, Rendition, The Second Great Depressing and Morning Comrade, but the rest doesn't really stand the test of time very well. It's just too paper thin, diluted and Manics-by-numbers. Still, it was an incredible tour, and although I wasn't overly happy with the album, I was chuffed to see the Manics so charged with life again. I remember that whole campaign, they looked so fucking cool and sounded brilliant live. I remember watching them on the Culture Show that summer, and it just had such an awesome air of positivity about it.

The Manics are obviously not trying hard to enough to write something that I hate!
