I was called after a manics song.

Come on mate, call your kid after your grandad or something proper. If you want to name something after the manics get a hamster or something.

Maybe reverse the angle you're looking at this from: ask for a list of her suggestions and then find the manics reference from within that list?

The Intense Humming of Evil is a fairly catchy name.

All joking aside, I quite like Arthur as a name and don't see that it's manics-related at all, or am I just forgetting Arthur the Secret Manic Street Preacher?

Could it be from the Manics playing for Arthur's Day celebrations last year? (wild guess) I don't quite know either!

I don't really see any problem with picking a Manics-related name, particularly if it's a name you'd like anyway - my hypothetical children that will never exist are Carl (boy, from Carl Barat of the Libertines) and Nico (girl, from...well, Nico), but by no means only because those names are from musicians that I've enjoyed, I just quite like them as names as well.

Not a bad idea! The Manics have had so many name references in their songs, I'm sure there'd be something on there.
