I'm guessing... Critical Thinking with Nicky singing? I'll look at the Instagram.
EDIT: Looked. Looks like a performance video. With electric piano/organ on the left of the picture. James looks like he's wearing Timmy Mallet glasses. Or no, what's they called? Ah... XTC? No. The Cardiacs? Even though it's a small picture I'm getting more 80's Indie vibes. Something to look forward to this weekend then. Last edited by Son of Stopped; 20-10-2024 at 12:13. |

Have we heard a Wurlitzer on a previous Manics record before?

Pretty sure a Wurlitzer was credited as an instrument on Truth.

Ah yes, it's on the Everlasting and perhaps Sepia too?

I suspect the video is done and we'll see a single release either next week or the week after to capitalise on the Jools Holland appearance.... or we'll see the single released and the video will follow a week later, because let's face it, they can't get anything out on time these days!
Video is most likely going to be another dull affair. Looking forward to the song, whether or not it actually has got any Wurli on it is another story, could just be there for effect - but it does excite me a bit.

So how does album release schedules work these days? Two singles likely to be out before the end of October, any chance of a surprise album release by the end of the year so the kids can get the new Manics album on CD for Christmas?

I think we might get a third single just before the album is released. 2025 makes more sense. Like said on the last page or two. They've had a release every year. 2025 we get a new album. No idea what's after. Apart from something.

100% on Sepia, for The Everlasring I don't recall any wurlitzer, but maybe I just need to listen to it again.

On the Jools page it says he is going to be chatting to James and Nicky about their personal projects, and i've thought they might play Being baptised new song on his show

I'm thinking it is the keys we start hearing from the second verse onwards?
