My local HMV couldn't have done any more to promote the album. Apart from having an in store performance from the band themselves!

Remember James's wife was Chief Marketing Manager at Channel 4 when SATT was out so probably got them performances on The Charlotte Church Show and The Friday Night Project

They were on T4 on the Beach that year too which probably helped them.

Yeah, they're also now over 40 - there comes a point, I suspect... Sadly.

Drastically over the couse of 2 years, these 'programmes' just get the shite to appear on them.
Let's face it, the only guitar bands to get chart success of late are Kings of Leon, Muse and Kasabian.
I might be wrong on this one, but I don't even remember Oasis and Arctic Monkeys last albums lasting that long in the top 40.
People turn their noses up at it to easily.
In work, we listen to Real Radio, people will hum or sing along to 80% of what is on there. However when (It's Not War) Just The End Of Love comes on, they don't even bat an eyelid.

Was she? Nice, that sounds very Nixon-esque (I don't mean the song but the real RMN!) ?ú

The new Kings of Leon album is £7 @ Tesco. They didn't even need that to get to No.1 but they got it anyway. Which is why worrying about how PFAYM can sell more is pointless. It's doing as well as those who are selling it can be bothered to make it do.

It's also £4 on Amazon MP3 this week too despite their current status, whereas such a price was needed more by MSP to try to get No 1. KOL are on a Sony label too I think.

The last KOL album sold bucketloads ..thats why they've reduced the new one..they're expecting massive sales again so they'll still make their money. If it doesnt do as well..they wont reduce the next one
