is it too much to hope we get some live-in-studio videos like we did for Even In Exile?

If there is one rule, it's not to split attention (if you want attention). I.e., the views on Youtube for the lyric video won't transfer to the official one. Why not release the song when the 'official video' is ready. Amateuristic.
This approach is the standard these days. Keeps the song in conversation.

New Coldplay video came out this week. The song has been out about a month already!

I love that we’re arguing over the confusion of the very medium the song’s message is being disseminated by, whilst that tension forms part of the message of the song itself. Well done Manics, point made! Or not made. Or made because not made.

Even though it looks like stock footage, everything in the video has come from Kieran's own archive.

I asked him about it on Twitter. He visited Calgary a few years ago. Surprised to see a bit of Western Canada in a Manics video. Sean mentioned he had vacationed at Waterton, so I wondered if he took some Calgary shots. I think Toronto”s CN Tower makes a second or so’s appearance.

lol.

Make me think that in the absence of original B-sides, I’d love the Manics to do an EP of ABBA covers alongside TUVL.

I wonder how much decent promotion this album is going to get before its release? I know it's still a few months away, but I just have a feeling that there's going to be little to no TV appearances, no decent music videos worth watching more than once (as we've seen with Orwellian), maybe a handful of radio interviews that, seriously, who will listen to and take note other than fans? I suppose the band nowadays just have their little dedicated fanbase and once we've bought new albums that's pretty much it for the vast majority of sales, but I guess it's the same for a lot of artists who aren't the new main attraction.

Radio 2 support is continuing. Too early to say it'll be Brit Award nominated? See how it goes.
At worse it'll just be another Manics album only enjoyed by the faithful.
But at best, reach beyond us. Reach beyond the Indie.
I'm confident it'll top the charts. How strong second and third week sales are, not sure.
I've... Really got to stop thinking about it. Setting myself up to fail!
It'll do well. That's the lowest I can be argued down to.
Will still pick them over everything other hand.

Bearing in mind they haven't had a Brit award nomination since 2000 I doubt the band will be holding their breath waiting for one this time round!
