I seem to recall him also saying that he didn't like it when bassists in bands sing - that it looks odd. This isn't really an excuse for it not to be on the record of course.

Well I don't like singing bassists either but I doesn't stop me doing it. Although for the one song I sometimes sing at gigs I have a guitar (its a really hard song to play, let alone play and sing. So our drummer plays it ) (he is a part-time drummer, and I'm a part-time bassist. Its a really fun band )
