I don't want to sound superficial but I utterly, utterly adore the cover, design and general visual aesthetic of KYE. The colour scheme is still gorgeous and vibrant after 15 years and it hasn't aged at all.
The singles all had fantastic art and colour schemes too - although perhaps undermining themselves a little: I remember it took ages to find the Found That Soul and So Why So Sad CDs in the rack when they came out because they had such a muted palette and weren't showy. I've found most of the cover art (Lifeblood and JFPL aside) since to be rather underwhelming.

Not a big fan of the album to listen through but I love the cover art. Got a poster somewhere I want to frame.

I'd love a poster of that that I could frame. Where did you get yours?

Cool KYE era gig from Hultsfred 01 that's new (ish) on Youtube. I like how angry Jimmy D sounds on MJ here
Plus a few decent performances of lesser spotted KYE tracks, SWSS and Elian etc.

So Why So Sad was the song that made me a fan (I know...) and I thought the album was great at the time but since then it's been surpassed by virtually every album they've released after KYE (in my opinion). I still have a soft spot for it though.

The singles and TIMT was the first album I bought back when I used to live in Greece, but KYE, and So why so sad was also what made me a fan really. I really enjoyed this is my truth but when I first heard so why so sad and the avalanches mix as well, I fell in love even more with the band!

My fandom was at it's peak during KYE. Saw them about a week before this gig in Dublin. Front row. Good times. |

I only wish I saw the band live around that time period.

There is a real vitality to that Hultsfredsfestival gig posted in a previous response. Everything is a bit messy and sloppy in places - DIY manics á la 1991. They clearly don't give a fuck about anything and the crowd don't quite know what to make of it. Particularly good rendition of So Why So Sad and Baby Elian I think.
Takes me right back to Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom 2001...nostalgia flooding in. |

That was awesome indeed. Wish I was there. Had to wait until 2009 to finally see then
