KYE all. the. way.
JFPL has already more or less dropped off my playlist. KYE never has.

KYE took me some time, but it has certainly grown on me. I enjoy it very much, BUT Journal gets my vote.

JFPL beats out KYE easily in my opinion, but I still rate KYE very highly. It really is their White Album (a few mediocre tracks but overall still a very fascinating record)

Know Your Enemy.
JFPL i admit is an excellent album, but KYE was a really important album to me as it was the only time i ever took a day off work to buy an album by somebody the moment the shop opened! Sad looking back as i could've just bought it after work, but still is my second favourite album. First time i saw them (or any band) live on that tour as well, travelled all the way from London to Glasgow as i didn't know about 'Touting'. |

Btw, I know bugger all about actual production techniques and didn't mean to imply that I do. However, I don't think you need to be a studio engineer to hear when an album is overblown and basically has too much going on. Any music fan can tell the difference between a low-key production and one containing too much filler...Phil C's use of the term "glossy" is probably one of the best ways to describe a heavily produced record. |

I really can't stand Know Your Enemy. I think it's the weakest Manics album by a long stretch. I don't know how anyone can equate it in any way to the White Album, even in the loosest anology.

OK, I cast my vote for KYE. I can't help but root for the Underdog (ha ha ha! Please don't hurt me). JFPL is amazing, but I used the "If I were stuck on a desert island and could only take one of these albums with me..." theory to decide, and was afraid that JFPL might make me clinically insane trying to interpret the meaning of all the lyrics while I waited for my rescue.
