I'm a Nicky fan and the vocal inflections are quite different to his other work so I'm really enjoying the new single. I find decline and fall inoffensive and have listened to it a good few times. I'm excited for the album with more Nicky tracks, I don't expect it to be a coherent statement but happy with collection of decent songs and tour

Omg I can't stop looking at the way Nicky is stood singing on that video. 😍

Video is absolutely lovely, really nice to actually see a proper video with some memorable imagery again. Song has grown on me a little since first listen, I found myself really enjoying the minor key instrumental bit in the middle. I could almost imagine myself enjoying the song overall if it had more to it than just the same verse throughout the whole thing, but for me that's the biggest sticking point, it sounds like it never got past the sketch stage. And I'm still hearing Chris Martin. But at least it's growing on me, unlike Decline & Fall, which I liked less with each listen.

I quite like the new T-shirt design, but am slightly concerned that it'll look dated by the time they release another couple of albums.

The video really helps the song I think. When I heard it last night I was fairly underwhelmed but it's amazing what some decent visuals can do. Absolutely love the video and the song is getting better with every listen.

Having watched the video, I think this should have been released ahead of D&F. Has a bit more urgency and sincerity to it, and for once in a long while, has a video that feeds into the vibe.
Important questions, how has Nicky maintained constant two day old stumble for the past few years and secondly, who keeps telling him this is a good look! The only Manic I want with a beard is James and he will forever deny us seeing it again! Of course Sean is reading the Plague...

I am inclined to think this is one of the best things they've done in ages. And mind, I tend do dislike every Nicky-sung-song. Sheer brilliance this one, though. Both goosebumps and tears. Brilliant vid.

I notice the album version of D&F has a weird noise thingy before the song kicks in. Doesn’t sound bad though.

All the alt cover options sold out already.
Now the wait to see how the official store does this time. Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.

Genuinely prefer the alt cover to the original.
Bonkers that the two bonus tracks aren't on the 2CD edition. What are they playing at? One of them will probably be the best track on the album as usual. |

Yeah that’s a total pain in the arse.
Nothing quite like a Manics release to remind you how much their store stings you for postage. |

I've outgrown the signed tat so happy to wait just to get it locally. Do like the look of the red vinyl at Rough Trade though.
And you can get T-shirts by themselves in the online store too. |
