Wow. I love Rosebud!
So glad we finally got to hear it! Edit. And I like the video, too. An ordinary, powerful woman (my interpretation, might be wrong).

Me too. I love almost all the EMG and TIMT remixes, but when I bought the SWSS single I remember being totally baffled as to why this track even existed and was even more baffled years when discovering that it's often considered superior to the original. I'm just glad I prefer CD to vinyl so my default listen will include the original.

If only 45rpm singles were massive in 2001. You could have had Rosebud backed with Pedestal and fool people into thinking it was the latest Red Hot Chilli Pepper's single

Please Mr. Wire, when you inevitably get to Lifeblood, please just take off LOADS of the compression/limiting for the album (and all the bonus stuff) and don't do anything else. The thought of it being messed with it is makin' me sad.

That cover needs to be seen as much as the GATS long sleeve sold out needs to go from the official store.
And the signed insert appears to be on a card displaying the entire picture. Still say picture was x-rayed as original had been painted over it. (It was auctioned, painter or band don't own it afaik) |

Rosebud is a great song. This whole project is amazing. I'm not 100% if I'm interpreting the IG post correctly, but it appears the album has also been remixed in its entirety. That's huge. A new running order, at least one new (v good track) and new mixes of everything -- wow, wow, wow.
The new mix would also explain Intravenous Agnostic as the opener on disk 2 -- the old mix is good but not opener good. Also, a whole new mix makes Masses Against The Classes stick out less (the old mix is beefier than KYE in general). I can already tell I will listen to this A LOT. Just A Ki'ds one of my all time Manics favs, great to see it in context. The opening 4 on Solidarity is an absolute monster. Generally, the sequence seems very good. I'm even down with strange stuff like the Avalanches remix of SWSS. Btw, what is Studies in Paralysis? I don't remember such a b-side from KYE? Another new track? Daaaaamn... Like me some Royal Correspondent but ok, whatever. Last edited by Marat Sar; 23-07-2022 at 22:28. |

Hope there's a scan of Wire's original sequence that conclusively states he wanted the Avalanches SWSS remix to be part of the original tracklisting, lols.

I read that as this is the list that he made for this re-issue. I didn't read it as that being the original track listing.

Alternatively, maybe they were running with the 2-albums idea until really late in the day - so all the tracks were finished, remixes done etc but last minute they scrapped it and went with the tracklist we know (and love?) |

The old story was always that everything (CDs, cassettes, and vinyls) was in production when the Avalanches mix came in.
