Good call, I still read the Journal book but I've only glanced at the PFAYM one in the deluxe edition.

TBF I would pay £20 for it.

In saying that if the rumours about a complete complete GH package thingy are true I'd prob pay whatever they are asking for it.

Well, to be fair, it's not like you didn't know what was contained in the set and despite many people protesting the extortionist rate for virtually nothing, some of you still went and paid full price for a bunch of trinkets. Even the 'limited editiin' label was a con. So much for music fans fighting for their rights as consumers!

Sorry if what I've written sounds rude, but I had to say it.

Yes, you have no one to blame but yourselves if you went ahead and bought it!

I'm curious as to how many people who bought this have actually played the cassette? I bet about 3/4 people. I'd pay about £20 at MOST for this box set, what was it when it came out, about £85 or something daft? Pah!!!!

its not the consumers fault that *limited edition* was a con though is it which is probably why most people ordered it early.

Yeah, exactly. Dunno about everyone else but I didn't think it'd be available now. EIL are still saying it's limited to 1000, dunno if we should take that with a pinch of salt like.

Exactly.

I'm a collector. It's silly to have such a gap in a collection that has taken over a decade to form.

My gripe is mainly with the lack of limited status of the so called limited edition and also that in the past any such exclusive items have been not only worth the money out right but have increased in value through the years (The gold hardback 'exclusively' signed Mitch photo book for example, or the mass inflation in the Lipstick Traces double 12").

To have spent so much on something that should've been worth that much only to see it become reduced via other websites is annoying. There seemed to be a suggestion in the way it was first advertised that it would be a Manics website exclusive - therefore there was no thought to it being available for less elsewhere. In the end I think the only exlcusive part was that the fans who bought this at full price got a tshirt - I'm not even sure that this tshirt was available beyond this package or not.

I thought it was. I seem to recall only a black version of the tshirt being sold outside of this package (after my friend pointed out a guy in the white version at a gig and said 'Poor bugger must've paid full price for the shoebox too.')

I certainly didn't buy it for an exclusive tshirt. I thought it was going to be the sought after fan 'must have' it was seemingly advertised to be. Since any other such exclusive items in the past seemed to be exactly so why should I have had reason to doubt this? Sadly my time machine that allowed me to check future prices on play.com wasn't working that week.

yea mine was broken too. I did wait a few weeks but i just thought sod's law it would sell out and i'd have to wait an age for a sensible ebay price. Think i paid 70 odd quid in the end.

Let me know when it's £15.99, I'll still be too embarrassed to display it on the shelf.

I bought it for the cassette, and I've played it to death. I have a tape player in the car, and it's how I usually listen to music when I'm out of the house.

I got one of the boxes that didn't have a t shirt, because I didn't want the t shirt. I keep promising myself that I'll have a really good look through the book one day, because I did like the look of it when I unpacked it. I've watched the DVD a couple of times too.
