In light of what has been said today, I'd like this as a 2nd set:
Dreaming A City - INTRO Peeled Apples Europa Geht Durch Mich Found That Soul 1985 Prologue To History Motorcycle Emptiness Your Love Alone Is Not Enough Walk Me To The Bridge Kevin Carter Futurology You Stole The Sun Forever Delayed A Design For Life |

I think this is the first opportunity they have had to get away with dropping all the hits. The gig itself is enough pull to get punters in and keep them happy. If they play a set similar to the Journal tour, the second set could be songs in keeping with the spirit. I'd expect to hear maybe one of the b-sides from the era. Penny Royalty, Donkeys, and the like. I'll be disappointed if it's just a hits set after the business has been done.

I'd love to hear some Journal tracks again. I'll happily listen to some of the tracks from the last two albums, if they fit the mood. No SPLAM or SMTW. But mostly I'd like it to be kind of a celebration of Richey.

They can only bring back RITH if the hits set is also done as a three-piece and the backing vocals from Wayne and Naysmyth/Reed are banished. Especially the "forever, never delayed" bit, which is not only always horribly off-key, but completely Fucking wrong.

Dear lord, why are they given microphones? I'm so happy to see them as 3 piece again.

Let us never forget the true horror of Reed's backing vocals on Slash n' Burn. "Keeel to leeeeev!", delivered in the same manner and pitch as Speedy Gonzalez. Never again.

I said to my mates when the gigs were announced that if they play anything, and i'm looking especially at INWJTEOL, from PFAYM on this tour the band should be lynched.
Luckily that bullet seems to have been dodged, of course there is still the 'misguided tweets' line from the view from stow hill to worry about but James could 'accidentally' flub that. |

Prologue to History would make me happy!
And someone said earlier about it should be only Richey era songs - have to disagree as that somewhat detracts from the rest of the bands contribution to THB and all the other work they've done! |

I really hope they only play songs from THB era and before. B-sides and rarities would be fantastic as there are some exceptional ones from THB and before. I really want the band to keep all songs within a certain vibe.
Them threatening to play stuff from Futurology is a bit scary. I love the album and want to hear more of it live, but THB tour is just not the time. I'd really hate the band to get through THB set and then get a bad reception for the newer songs. They know some people at the gigs are going to be those who will never accept the new material. I just really want the band to feel good about their new material and know we're thankful for them doing this tour. |
