Once Bernard Butler let Richey play a gig instead of himself to piss out Brett Anderson but in fact Brett was confident and wanted to keep Richey so Bernard left Suede. Brett fell in love with Richey and wanted the next album's title to be "coming out" but Richey disappeared...

Richey didn't actually have a sense of smell, Wire took advantage of this by farting in his face at night

Nicky and Sean once had a furious argument when it turned out Nicky didn't know what 'spit-roasting' was and Sean refused to tell him.

Meanwhile James was drooling from one side of his mouth. "Mmmm.... roasting...."

'I Killed The Zeitgeist' is about Nicky's part in the murder of the mascot for his local team 'The Wattsville Zeitgeists'

Sean sleeps in a stasis chamber.

Nicky spends his time off from the band making clothes out of unusual materials. He has recently completed a tuxedo made entirely from pot pouri.

James Dean Bradfield - for all his butch appearance - is only truly comfortable when he's wearing lacy French knickers.

James actually created wine after stumbling drunkenly into a vinyard whilst on holiday in France. He stomped on all the grapes because they 'looked at him funny'.

How The Manics Influenced The Making Of Avatar.

Madonna's poor Die Another Day theme started off life as a cover of Die In The Summertime. whilst James and Nicky had nothing against her cover as such, Sean went mental when he heard that there were no drums on the Madonna version, with the lady instead feeling that a sequencer would do as, to quote her, "the drums, and the snare in particular, were not an essential part of the track.".

outraged at this dig at his talents, Sean immediatley recorded a snare-heavy cover of Holiday and phoned around every Japanese sailor he knew, offering the track for free for any and all pro-Whaling campaigns.

with both parties aware that they were facing a serious lose-lose scenario a peace summit was orchestrated in Cuba, with negotiations hosted by no less than Fidel Castro. Castro, well known for his love of the New Art Riot EP and indeed making Hanky Spanky off the Dick Tracy soundtrack compulsive listening for all Cubans, was keen to see both artists avoid a scenario where only bourgeouis capitalist publishing rights owners would win.

a slight breakdown in the talks happened when Madonna mistook Nicky Wire for an albino African-American basketball player and attempted to pro-create with him. such an act of folly was only avoided when James managed to distract Madonna with a collection of shiny shells collected from the beach. this event was documented in the song "Evaded Madonna In Last Year", which the label accidentally released under the acronym "Emily" on the Lifeblood album.

eventually a non-agression pact was signed, where both artists agreed that not releasing covers of each other was considerably better than having Fidel's good mate Vlad Putin introduce them to life in a salt mine. the deal was sealed with a special joint concert of the Manics and Madonna, with the terms of the joint concert being that Madonna wouldn't actually appear on stage with them.

when Madonna sneaked out Die Another Day as the Bond theme, Sean went bonkers again and started contemplating re-recording Holiday as Long Weekend and indeed had a number of Japanese sailors on speed dial. James and Nicky, however, confronted Sean with a mock up of an NME cover, featuring a picture of Sean and the headline The Dark Bono, suggesting to him that if he went ahead with participating in a pro-Whaling campaign his name would forever be linked to Bono's, and that every time Bono did something nice Sean would be obliged to do something naughty.

Sean was eventually persuaded to drop the matter and move on the strict condition that he could choose whatever colour he damn well liked for his picture on the Forever Delayed cover, and that his hair would be digitally enhanced for the DVD so that it appeared approximately 1cm longer on the Motorcycle Emptiness video. in regards of the latter condition, James Cameron was one of the few who picked up on this digital enhancement and as a consequence decided that the techonology was right for him to go ahead with Avatar.
