I hope this doesn’t sound too worthy, but if you’re listening to the album on Spotify or even Amazon, whether a week early or not... actually buy the album if you can, and go to a gig if you can.

The band get almost fuck all for listening on Spotify, YouTube and co, and we have to put our hands in our pockets if we want ‘our’ band to continue

It’s not too worthy. While it’s not our fault as fans that someone messed up, this does have consequences as it has done in the past.

For every time you listen to it between now and release, you should make a note to listen again on Spotify when it’s officially out. If we all pull together that could amount to half an album or sale or something!

No, but after having heard it I really want to cancel my preorder. I just hope the CD packaging has a yellow spine. I’m fed up with white, grey or black. It’s been like that since Lifeblood. Come on, I’m basically paying £10.99 to add a bit of colour to that part of my CD shelf at this point.

Well said, but I'm sure 95% of fans on here will always buy Manics stuff with their own hard earned cash. I pay for Spotify so in a way don't feel bad for listening to music on there I am playing (which is mostly Manics and a few other bands I love, very little else haha), but I have always bought the albums on day of release as the Manics have been my favourite band for years and always will be

Mate, I fucking despise PFAYM. But I still went to the tour. I still have both CD and special edition CD versions. I still have it on vinyl, alongside the singles from that album.

I wouldn’t do that for any other band or artist. Nobody. I don’t even own the Bowie albums that I dislike. So far, after a couple of listens, TUVL is ranking low for me. I’m not getting a huge amount out of it. But of course I’ll still be buying it; it’s the Manics.

I have the PFAYM shoebox. One day I’m going to set fire to this entire cursed collection and it’s going to feel so good.

Yeah, even I’m not psychotic enough to have the shoebox.

Wait wait wait, we're mixing talk of wanting to cancel pre-orders and it ranking low with buying multiple versions and streaming it multiple times to keep the band going?

Seriously does no one else see this as lunacy? By all means support the band by going to the gigs but why in the blue hells would you encourage them to keep reeling out this tat? Let the record die the death it deserves or if it's really good for some people let it succeed.

If we want the band to actually try harder they need to fail (or succeed) on their merits.

I mean worst case scenario, if the album flops they can't afford shite extra musicians on tour and we get actual decent gigs as they try to redeem themselves and James starts trying again.

I think this could be the last throw of the dice if it flops. They can't afford the huge international tours. Some of the press seems out for them. Yes, they can't go on forever, but they should have the rest of the decade left in them.

I'd say they can tour quite profitably by hitting the right size venues in the right cities. Their expenses aren't high, it's not like they're Rammstein

They could even cut costs by, oh I dunno, not dragging superfluous musicians around.
