Pretty average, certainly wouldn't catch my ear or make an impression if I hadn't heard the Manics version before.

And I'm honestly trying hard not to let the horrible memory of SFA live taint my impression of this! I like them on record, but after witnessing such tedium, I didn't listen to them for years.

Yeah, as much as I love SFA they just don't have 'the attack' that the Manics have, if you know what I mean!

I was pretty excited to listen to this but it really isn't *that* good. However it's nice to hear something different done to it and it's cool to have someone 'known' do a Manics cover.

Fair enough. Its just your previous description painted them in a darker light, so I was just curious as to whether it was more than just a dislike of their musical output.
