It mentions bonus tracks but they’re not named and the title being a regular edition makes me think. Also seems cheap but if that’s the case then that’s cool.
I went for the deluxe because I’m silly, (and I ordered from Amazon Japan, because I don’t know if CDJapan are customs/VAT friendly yet after the changes to all that this year?) but it does appear from available evidence that the standard and deluxe both get the two bonus tracks on the main album CD (CD1 in the deluxe).

Sony Music Japan’s website has the track titles listed:

Yeah, me too - I wonder if this version is actually the demo on CD2 or that’s yet another version? The more the merrier, but I’d quite like the one in the video in high quality. I guess we’ll find out soon!

A nice listen. I miss the somewhat anthemic quality of the single though.

Some delightful Japanese to English translations by Google on a few songs:

The Secret He Had Mist
Don't Let The Night Divide Ass
After-lending

I did wonder if it was deliberate myself, but I doubt we’ll ever get to the bottom of it.

In today’s episode of There Are Other Albums Coming Out

So… this album is growing on me. It’s hot and sunny today. Maybe this is a record that needs sunshine. It gives rain on Friday. That’s what they get for delaying it.

It’s a hot battle in the album chart this week too. Iron Maiden are leading Drake by 8000 sales which is why Nicky ran to the hills as soon as they turned up. I still anticipate Drake catching Maiden up now they no longer have two months of preorders to fight with.

But that’s not TUVL’s problem. TUVL’s problem is the ominous silhouette of Kendrick Lamar drawing closer to a possible September 10 release.

https://www.nme.com/news/music/kendr...-ascap-3038212

If that album does drop on Friday I want Kieran to be there to film Nicky’s reaction and then use it in slow motion as the video for the next single.

Not sure this is correct. Something like The Great Gig In the Sky or Mean Mr Mustard probably don’t work that well on their own but really do in context. That doesn’t mean they’re bad songs.

Yep fully agree. Radiohead announcing the KidA anniversary edition today has reminded me that I would never listen to Treefingers by itself but as part of the album it's incredibly atmospheric and a beautiful moment. Some songs are great by themselves and some are great in context. It's why any good album should be more than just a collection of songs (which is a fair criticism of RiF I would say).

The standard CD looks nice when it’s not a render. I’m still hoping for a yellow spine to liven up my CD shelf but will accept blue. If it’s white we’re going to have problems.

Standard CD is the only format I’m getting now but I’ve ordered it from Amazon along with the new WarioWare game out on the same day. What a Friday parcel it’s going to be. Micro games and micro songs. It all makes sense to me now. JDB is Wario. “Here’s your verse and chorus, now sod off to the next one. Wahahaha.” Genius, JDB. Genius.

PS. Cat Southall makes the piano version of TSHHM sound like a Lady Gaga piano ballad and I’m okay with that.

Great Gig In the Sky... pretty sure that's on TUVL at one point

As for Mean Mr Mustard... no context makes that song memorable.

I've been playing the new WarioWare game today (leaked) - it's weirder than TUVL in all honesty! Stick a tache on Sean though and he could pass off as Wario like on the SMTW video.

Haven’t had the time to dig for sneaky previews of the whole album (I’m a patient man these days, i can wait for Friday), but i will say this now; that piano version of The Secret is the closest thing they’ve done to this whole “The Holy Bible for 40 (now 50?) year olds” idea that Nicky’s kicked around since RTF.

I’d love an album like this, sparse and creaky and creepy.
