deluxe edition now on spotify new zealand, no idea how to listen to it though....

*ah just need to be using a free account rather than premium to change location, Diapause (demo) is sublime..

Use a VPN set to NZ and then access Spotify on a PC and change your region to NZ. That should allow you to listen to the songs.

My initial thoughts are that in the words there is such a resignation of defeat throughout and it makes sense to me given what nicky has been through but it’s the album for what we’ve all been through the past year when it feels like everything is falling apart. The music soars when it should I suppose, with don’t let the night divide us being particularly rousing, some clunky lyrics notwithstanding. Needs more listening.

I gave the demo clips a listen on Amazon.co.jp because I couldn’t be dealing with the whole thing.

The majority of them don’t appear to do anything different from the album versions. Ones that will be worth full length investigation: Quest for Ancient Colour, Blank Diary Entry and Afterending. Sapporo too because the clip sounds like Everlong by the Foo Fighters.

There's a couple of demos that are nice, Diapause and Still Snowing in Sapporo. Piano songs are stripped down a little but overall feels like previous demo versions i.e. rehearsed and ready to be recorded with full instrumentation.

The “conscious” demos that started with JFPL. I preferred the type on EMG10/GATS20/GT20 when they didn’t think anyone would ever hear them.

Hopefully KYE20 will have some real demos

Aye, there was an opportunity to just have James on piano. Still Snowing in Sapporo is a treasure though, some nice solo James vocals. I think quest for ancient colour was alright as well, stripped of its production values.

What techniques are you using to listen? I set my vpn to NZ and Spotify just shrugged

Just watched that concert on BBC Iplayer and got to hear the new songs for the first time... sound nice Roll on tomorrow morning when I will play the album and Spotify on repeat and await my CD and vinyl, then head off to Halifax for the gig
