They do love GT so I hope the font reflects that and the sound of the album.
Think Nicky said a few months back that the album will be out later this year or early next, and then in a really recent interview (maybe late July or early August) he said it was pretty much done. October or November release sounds right for a November / December tour. It’s very un-Manics like to send such an email so I’m equally as suspicious as I am excited. |

I think others in the know have said no gigs (or a tour) for the rest of the year so I expect the tour to be March or April. Still not sure if we will see the album this year. There was about four months between Orwellian and TUVL, so it depends when we get the single. Could be next Friday or not? Nothing on their socials or the pre-requisite background image changes that proceed any announcements. This is all strange, definitely feel like Nick or the marketing team trolling us.

The thing on the two Ls is a watermark/tear drop type thing - it also affects the bottom of the letters above it

Bit of a curveball this Just going through old emails, announcements and orders. It’s usually 13 weeks from announcement to the release. 13 weeks seems to be the pointer. Sleep next to plastic is different when we got less than a week’s notice. Last edited by Lee; 23-08-2024 at 22:33. |

Unfortunately, I've got Craig David in my head singing "Decline & Fall"

Ok if we’re making references to rising & falling then I throwing in Reginald Perrin early 😉👍🏻

Like many, I came here for that email because it was out of the blue and had no clickthrough for me. Just there, waving. Can’t see it on their official socials either, so a very specific audience got it.
First thing I did was to look up the “decline & fall” phrase because I am that basic, and it relates to Evelyn Waugh’s first published novel of a similar same name – the sentences before aren’t out there in that manner, so the red font highlight and title of the comm... The lads/Wire never promote a phrase without a meaning or nudge behind it no matter how esoteric, nor re: an author who has some connection in the past. Is it a first book > first album thing? Equally, the font degradation is a good spot and perhaps seen as the sands of time ebbing away? I can waste more time overthinking this but glad someone is having fun over there, watching the fans wonder. |
