Great pics! Bless 'em catching up on sleep an hour before the gig!

Down to 3 PFAYM tracks now! That's confidence in your new album for you. Oddly dropping PFAYM which was one of the better sounding songs from that album they've played so far.

Na, I can sort of see why they're doing the hits as they haven't been there for so long.

Nice to see full band YSTS in the set but agree it's a shame they've dropped PFAYM.

Wow, this is the most dead I've ever seen a gig thread on this forum. Clearly there aren't many Australians from Brisbane who post on FD.

Glad those who went had a great time. Going by the pics, it looks like they had a really good turn out at this gig. Excellent!

Does this mean the James "Play guitar and sing then let the audience sing" trick fell on deaf ears?
I imagine it was a terrific gig but Nicky in that pics looks like he's thinking "This gig is going terrible! People don't know how to react?"
But in classic FD fashion this is only from those two pictures. If we get some more details over the next day etc...
It's either Jet Lag or the audience are "Rabbits in the headlights" towards the band. We've been up close to them ourselves! It can happen...

Great Twitter pics! Nice find MSPKYE!

Talking

Hey all I was there last night thought I'd give my views of the gig.

It was simply amazing, I have seen them three times before but last night they put in SO much energy it was unbelievable. It was as if they were a brand new band again. It's how I imagine they were 15 years ago.

The whole place was singing along, the building was rumbling with the sing alongs. Lots and lots of the songs, James stepped back and let everyone sing for him on many occasions.

Everyone there knew all the words to all the songs.

They were jumping about all over the place, he put in lots of extra solos, James was also doing the 'windmill' guitar showmanship. there were some crazy drum fills that I've never heard before and the whole place was jumping! Both the keyboards and backing singing were spot on.

I think the Manics were surprised and they were genuinely humbled they kept saying how grateful they were. Nicky was grinning all the way through.

Oh and one more thing, at the end James made a point of saying that they were 'NEVER coming back'. So there you go.

There was a mosh pit down at the front and some people were going absolutely mental.

Obviously loads of Welsh people there, I would like to know where we are all hiding when the Manics aren't here cos I'm yet to meet any.

The pics posted above don't accurately reflect how it really was.

The support act were basicaly a carbon copy of the Killers, complete with megaphone and your standard 'try to be different hair cut' and skinny jeans.

We managed to get a really good spot at the front centre of the balcony.

Best thing I have EVER seen. Probably a thousand times better than the other Manics gigs I've seen (Cardiff 2002 and Bristol 2006 ish)

Off for a rest now as am completely hungover.
