Be over now. Surprised they've done a gig in Aderlaide...there's nothing much there. I did a wine tour just outside of it, about it from memory

Im back!

I got that setlist slightly wrong sorry Takk, it's actually:

You Love Us
Your Love Alone Is Not Enough
Motorcycle Emptiness
(It's Not War) Just The End Of Love
Roses In The Hospital
Australia
This Is Yesterday
Everything Must Go
Some Kind of Nothingness
You Stole The Sun From My Heart
Ocean Spray
From Despair To Where
Suicide is Painless (Theme From M*A*S*H)
Motown Junk
If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next
Everlasting (acoustic)
Faster
No Surface All Feeling
Golden Platitudes
Tsunami
A Design For Life

They just swapped Roses and Australia around.

The gig was amazing! Totally kicked Sydney's arse. It wasn't sold out by a long shot, even though it was a tiny venue, and I thought it seemed like they felt they had something to prove because they were really on fire! Even though the crowd were small they were pretty intense - way more moshing than in Sydney. I have no photos cos it was too squashy to get the camera out!

They came out afterwards but it was pretty quick - there were quite a few people outside and not much space so a lot of us didn't get to say hello

I had such a fun time queuing this afternoon - I never knew sitting on concrete for hours on end could be quite so entertaining! it's been lovely to meet all you antipodean fans

Oh yeah, and I had to laugh when James said they'd put FDTW in the set as a special treat for those who were following them round - made me think someone must have read my comment about falling asleep during the Ocean Spray/SIP combo because that's exactly where they put it!

That gig was amazing! The crowd was great - I loved being able to go crazy but still have space to do it. Though I heard it was a little more rough over near James (we were in between Nick and James).

It was insane seeing them pulling all those shapes that you have seen over and over on tv etc. James with his head back playing his guitar, his circle hop thingy haha, and Nick just seems to keep himself entertained by dancing and jumping away. I couldn't help but have a HUGE grin every time he did a huge scissor kick jump. He was brilliant.

Oh and I managed to glimpse Sean a few times back there on the drums, he was kinda hidden!

Can't wait for Melbs and Perth.

Absolutely incredible. Sydney was great, but my god. Never in my wildest dreams did i think Adelaide would be better.

Again, lads absolutely brilliant with meeting fans pre show and post show. They're just a class act. James in particular has just been so bloody happy this whole tour. Photos on the way shortly.

Oh and Scoto... yeah was a bit more 'energetic' where we were in front of James. Crowd really into it though, way more than Sydney.

Brisbane to Adelaide

I loved the Brisbane gig so much I decided to go to Adelaide. This time I met a few fans at a pub before hand which was great. When we arrived at HQ there was already about 100 people queued up - way more than Brissie, althought the venue was slightly smaller.
Last time I was right in front of Nicky - this time on the opposite end I could see James and Sean. The atmosphere wasn't quiet as electric as Brisbane (although it could have been that previously I was so overwhelmed at finally seeing them), but they were still fantastic. James seemed more chatty and did a little bit of the Tequilla song at the start of his acoustic bit.
This time I had brought a feather boa along and threw it up to Nicky before the last long. He quickly scooped it up and tied it on top of the others. (It looked like several green and black had been added in Sydney.)
I also bought a little toy kookaburra and sewed a mini feather boa around its neck as a present to give if I should meet Nicky afterward. One of my new mates convinced me to throw it on stage instead, which was just as well with them zipping away at the end. However I threw it just after the boa and it bounced right past Nicky and he didn't see it. A man from out the back whipped it out of the way - I hope he gave it to him later. If anyone ever finds out can you let me know, as I can't make it to anymore of the gigs. Enjoy, everyone!

There are currently shots from Sydney and Adelaide at my website (more than these)

Pics 1-33 are Sydney
Pics 34 - 98 are Adelaide
Pics 99 - will be Melbourne.

After the show James actually asked "did you get some good smudges on the camera tonight mate?"

Some of em aren't toooooo smudgy :-)

The photo's are amazing. Thankyou for putting them on. So glad you all had a good time and pleased the gig was good at Adelaide. As i had mentioned, several times, i'm coming to Adelaide on Thursday, stopping at KL for three days, we're staying for the cricket but really looking forward to spending time in this city, especially as the manics fans sound so great.

Thanks!

Enjoy your trip - I think most of the manics fans up the front for this gig were from NZ, Sydney, Canberra or Melbourne :-)

Such a shame you missed a great gig.
