Signed Manics Guitar Needs Caring New Owner

I have a guitar signed by the Manics that I am looking to get rid of. It was signed at the 2003 HMV Oxford Street gig. There is a genuine reason for the sale; I haven't played it in years (I haven't owned an amp since around 2007) and frankly the Manics don't mean as much to me as they once did to want to keep it for sentimental value. However, rather than just sticking it on eBay for some memorabilia collector, I want to make sure it goes to a fan.

I don't really have an idea on price, so here's what I propose. I'm going to hold a silent auction, starting tonight and running until midnight Sunday 14th July. You PM me with what you would pay for it, and when the time is up it will go to the highest bidder.

Before you get bidding however, here are some rules and things to bear in mind:

- Only bid what you can afford. Don't go nuts.
- In the event of two or more people having exactly the same highest bid, I will go by the earliest bid made.
- I live in St Albans, and I can deliver to within a reasonable distance. Basically, I can cover most of Beds/Herts/Bucks. I am also happy to get a train to London to meet you.
- I accept cash only. No Monopoly money/offers of governance/sea shells/marriage proposals.
- I haven't played it in a while, so if you are a serious guitar player looking to use it on a regular basis, you may want to invest in some new strings. Also, whilst I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work, I haven't owned an amp or leads for a few years now so I am unable to test it properly.

In the meantime, here are some pics.

Well, it seems no one wants her. Poor guitar.

Could a mod please close and lock the thread, since the deadline has passed?

Maybe no one can afford it... ^_^"
Starting from me. But then I don't play guitar anyway, would prefer someone who'd actually play it to have it rather than collecting dust with me.

Maybe try offering a ballpark price? I'm too skint to bid but if I had the money I might not message you for fear of being offensively low and completely misjudging the value.

I'd have it in a heartbeat if I could play!

I would absolutely love it, manics and guitar obsessive! I didn't see this thread before the date you posted for the end of auction. If you're still wishing to sell it, maybe you could pm me a ball park figure of what you'd like for it.

I think it would help people a lot if you could post the guitar specs on here as well. That way they'd have an idea of what the guitar is worth itself and then they can think about it being manics signed

It's only a Vintage guitar. Signed it wouldn't be worth more than £200.

Yeah a Vintage V100 gold top, it doesn't look like it's had any mods but thought I'd check
I keep saying no more guitars until I've saved for my dream guitar, but I seem to give in too easily! I think it's too far away though for me

I don't see why someone didn't want this. If I didn't have a JDB-signed Les Paul, I'd be buying it myself!

Someone please make whiterevolver a non-derisory offer. I'd be happy to offer any general advice re guitars, but needless to say this would be a brilliant first electric with or without the Manics factor.

I certainly wasn't expecting thousands; I don't know much about guitars but I know 'Vintage' isn't the same brand as Gibson I was thinking somewhere around £40/50 going up to £150. It is a nice guitar to play, but you are buying it more for the signatures...

Couldn't give you an answer on the specs, but it is certainly unmodded. I haven't replaced or changed anything (except a few string changes because of breakages.)

A quick glance of your location Amaitheanhorn tells me you are in North Wales. That's a bit far for me to deliver (or you to pick up), unless you are coming to London sometime soon.

I've heard of other people with signed guitars having that tag. It seems to be something he does.

Yeah, I questioned it and he said "it's my favourite chord", though it doesn't feature in many MSP songs.
